OK, so I want to get my EGT's down a bit when towing, etc. So I was going to just eliminat the cat, but found that the AFE cat delete was on backorder. I believe it was Josh? at DPPI that suggested going with the 3.5 downpipe/ cat pipe.
So here's the question. How much louder will the exhaust be with this setup vs. stock? Does someone have an audio clip? The reason I'm asking, is if I put in this setup, the cat will not just go right back in, without putting the stock down pipe in too.
Also, I have an exhaust brake between the cat and muffler, takes out like 6" of the stock pipe, need to make sure the new pipe would hookup right.
Mark, feel free to help me out here.:thanks
I tried to get Robert to get an audio clip of his 6.0, but i think he's a bit challenged when it comes to computer skills.:roflmao :sorry

Just noticed, you have MBRP exhaust in sig. So you must have MBRP muffler, too?
If so you can go ahead and :guns: me for being such a :jerk:.
I need the sound of a truck with a stock muffler with no cat.
:sorry :sorry :sorry Robert

I got pics and a short video of the woman pulling out of the driveway. Straight piped MBRP exhaust.

royfordguy,

Ok the AFE delete pipe will fit the stock system, but you won't get a ton of EGT drop with just a cat delete pipe. You'll get the EGT drop with the larger mandrel bent pipes ands the free flow muffler the most, a cat is only worth 25-35 degrees. Now you have an exhaust brake, you need to see what diameter pipe it will accept before you do anythiong as most of the US Gear brakes are sized to the pipe you had when you ordered it, increasing the size might mkae the brake not fit.
