Got the AIS Intake kit from Diesel Power Products with the Foam Sleve, looking forward to seeing how it does. I understand the install is not that hard. I thought I saw someone post a decent set of install pics on this site?

Thanks

Wasn't me with the pics.. buy it's a real strait forward, easy to do install.

I've had my AIS on for 70K and will never go back to anything else.

Did you notice any gains with fuel milage or power? Is the turbo any louder? Your right, the install doesn't look too bad. I went through dieselpowerproducts.com and got the kit with the optional sleeve that goes into the fender area. Whats the easiest way to disconnect the air filter minder switch without damaging the wires?

Thanks

You can just pull out the whole filter minder assembly. Might need to push from inside the tube if it is stuck.

The connector just unplugs. I really like the AIS, and it is a good improvement, for more air, and excellent filtration. I recommend reusing the original filter minder, the new one is very sensitive.

Can't say I've seen any MPG, or Power gains, but there was NO loss in either, going From an Open Air... To the AIS. The BIG thing was.. the Quietness. I like hearing the Turbo  as I'm working the gears.. towing. So Yes.. you can, hear the Turbo.. much, much better.

My 2K didn't have the [Electronic] filter minder thing, so I just plugged the AIS mounting hole.

That big 'ol Donaldson filter element will last you a long, long time. I just give it a couple's taps on the bench at each oil change, to knock out the "Big Chunks", back blow it with low pressure air and re-install it :dunno

Hey Guys,

I am having trouble un-hooking the air restriction and temp sensor wire to install my AIS. I don't want to break/damage the connections.

Thanks

its a 1/4 or half twist connector. you can disconnect the elec connection form the sensor and then deal with the sensor with the housing in your hands
