So I've researched the topic of air filters on here and want your guys opinion. I have the Air Raid Quick fit system that came with the truck when i bought it. I have no clue about this filter and it's advantages/disadvantages except for the fact that it seems to need to be cleaned often(every other month or so). What do you guys recommend? here is a link for reference. Airaid - Product Search

I don't have alot of experience with Airaid, but if you have to clean it every month that doesn't sound to cool unless you enjoy that. I am looking to go with Volant cold air intakes. I've heard that filtration and air delivery are high. That would be my choice.

Is it dusty where you live? I could possibly see that some months here in West Texas where the sand blows so much but that sounds a little to much to be cleaning. A lot of the guys are going to tell you to get rid of it and go with the tymar type intake, less money and better filtration with just as much flow if not more.

Actually its closer to Augusta GA. But this filter? 1 of the easiest mods I have ever done if not the easiest and I love it. Little more noise with the 6637 filter but like I have said before I use these same filters on MUCH more expensive equipment than our trucks so I trust them completely. And it's all of a 30 minute job.

Another thing to remember is MAX AIR FLOW CAPABILITY. What I mean by that is........your stock turbo can only handle SO MUCH inflow....if that makes sense. A filter that flows 9 gazillion CFM wont do much if your turbo or intake can handle only 565 CFM......capeche?

Hoped I helped in some small way.

I forgot something. We also blow these things out ( from the inside) with an airhose. Gets you a little more time on them, And if your anal about filtration like I am just throw some hose over the filter or buy a prefilter cover.
