What Real, Tangible purpose or benefit does the front Air Dam/Valance/Bib provide ?

I'm thinking about taking mine off. On a 4X4.. it just seems like a "lower than it needs to be" thing.

It keeps air from going under the truck, increasing mileage. The air dam diverts the air along the sides of the truck which is easier than going under the truck. With a 4 X 4 I don't really see any benefit. Remove it and see how it looks. :thumbs

My thinking exactly Dave.. I took it off. Looks ALOT better without... "A Chin". :);)

Buddy of mine with a dodge paid to put one on his 4x4 about 5 or 6 years back. I dunno what's right but if you're driving these to save fuel, uh...maybe that is an issue to re-evaluate. I think they look better w/o the silly thing.
