Astronauts awaken to Aggie fight song
MISSION CONTROL, Houston — The shuttle Discovery astronauts today awoke to the Aggie fight song -- a tune familiar to crewmember Mike Fossum.
Fossum is the first Texas A-and-M graduate in space.
Astronaut Steve Swanson, who was at Mission Control in Houston, reminded Fossum that there are quite a few A-and-M folks working for the space agency.
Swanson said that at Mission Control, and all throughout Texas, people have been watching Fossum through the mission.
Swanson told Fossum quote: "I think we can say the eyes of Texas are upon you."
