Diesel Junkie
I was driving to work and my truck dies while showing 1/8 tank of fuel. I looked at the fuel regulator and it showed zero psi. It was the rear tank that was giving me grief.
I went to the wiki and printed the paperwork to follow as a guide. Hutchinaugusta did a great job on the wiki.
My rear tank did not have the mixer valve his showed and the rubber foot had deteriorated. My only option was to create a foot that would work. Replacing a part known to fail was not an option I wanted.
I went to the auto parts store and purchased the 3/8 union and found flared 3/8 brake line in an 8 inch piece with flared ends.
I was able to view my work through the vent valve opening in the top of the tank. By measuring and cutting, I found a 1 5/8 inch piece would clear the tank bottom, while being close enough to touch the bottom when I took off the pressure from the pick up unit and it dropped. I also used a file and notched the flare to act like the rubber legs did. Being somewhat of an oddball, I put 5 notches in the end
I tried inserting the pics and they did not work. What do I need to do?
