While I knew this from the first time I saw the idea, this article puts a spin on algae-biofuels that is mildly interesting.
I always saw the main result of this as making fuel. THey see the main result as sequestering carbon. Long story short, both things happen.
This algae idea is a "net-zero" carbon cycle. This means the CO2 the algae "eats" as it grows is the same amount you create when you burn the fuel. End result? No more carbon being added to the atmosphere.
While I am not convinced at all that carbon dioxide is actually doing any harm, this would sure shut those people that do think so the heck up, finally.
