Hello all, Im new here and this is my first post. My problem is similar to a thread by dcathey but a little different so I figured I would start another thread.

Here it is:

My truck has 196,000 on it and recently I have noticed that it does a "bucking", missing, coughing type thing when it rains. I have noticed that it only does it when the roads are wet. I will just be cruising along and it will jerk real hard and kind of hiccup. Sometimes it will throw a "Service Engine Soon" light on and sometimes it will not. If I slow to a stop, sometimes it will just die. But when it dies, it cranks right back up and Im on my way til it does it again. When I start it back up, I have not noticed any smoking at all. I am thinking it is getting water in it somewhere as it only does it in the rain but where? I have replaced the CPS about a year ago and it acts similar to the way it was when the CPS went out other than it starts right back up now and would not until after a 15 minute or so sit then. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Alright, I will, but it's all stock. I have made absolutely no mods to this truck other than a suspension lift. It is a 1999 Ford F250 SD 7.3L with a 2.5 inch suspension lift and 35" skins.

Could also be the idm getting water intrusion. There's really high voltage output from the idm so it would be sensitive to water, plus if your inner fender liner is loose or missing, the tires would throw water right at it, the cps is alot cheaper and more common however. Throw a cps at it and hope, then look at bigger fish if the little guy doesn't fix it.
