97 trans problems

I would definelty recommend a tranny shop for a second opinion, but it sure sounds like TC troubles to me. The 4R100 TC was stronger than the E4OD but it was still prone to failures. How many miles on the unit now? If you have any plans for future mods, now is the time to knock out the tranny work, also.......... if it is your TC you want to change it out now before it grenades and scatters throughout the whole enchilada.

trucks got 101 on it right now. I plan to get a TS 6 pos chip w/ intake, exhaust, and gauges. its not gonna be a race truck but its gonna get some mods. I just want a TC (if thats the problem) that will be reliable.

Sounds like the lockup clutch inside the TC is applying in R. It isn't suppose to. Now you need to find out why.
