Just CURIOUS :dunno as to how we with injectors and some mods stack up against a STOCK/Unchipped Duramax or Cummins for that matter. I am pretty :dunno sure we wouldn`t do well against them if they were modded.
WHAT are your experiences? You boys that dyno , drag and pull alot can answer the question. At $3/gallon the hammer is not down much anymore.
Got a buddy with a new D-max and I sure get tired of his bragging, but then again he has $20K more invested in his truck :sweet than I do.

Joe,

I'm only slightly modded and I know there are early PSD's out there that are pushing a helluva lot more out the axles than I am, but I had a 26 foot TT on behind my old hag and walked right past several newer rigs of all three brands last month. As you said, in modded form our rigs wouldnt stand a chance against an 02,03,04 or 05 SD, Duramax or Cummins. But in stock fashion we can give'm a run for sure.

I think you're going to be slightly out powered by the new trucks.

He has 20k more into his truck and more than likely gets worse mileage than you do out of your truck. Today that's a very important difference. You might not make it to 60 as fast but you have the power needed to pull hills w/ a load.

BJS,

We might be slightly out powered by a new stock truck depending on what mods have been done to the 7.3L.......

On another note though, have you pulled yet with your BDP's and TW chip? I can tell you that without a badazz chip I was flat impressed how the BDP's performed as compared to the stock squirters pulling the identical load (possibly heavier). All I am running right now is the SCMT and I could hold 75 mph pulling hills with a 26 ' TT and a 600 lb load in the bed to boot. EGT's would push 1350 or so and only on the long nasty grades did I have to drop out of OD.

Fuel is groovy! :thumbs

I'll tell ya where we are beat hands down all the way around is in interior creature comforts. The new rigs are SO much more plush, but we all know that comes at a price.

Haven't pulled anything with mine especially with a chip, Right now I'm in the poor house so I'm trying to keep from burning up my tranny and since the only chip I have is a TS 100hp chip. It's not too friendly to the EGT's even w/ an empty trailer oh an don't mention tranny temps. I've got some bandaids comming to help the tranny survive till I can go ahead and do it right. I still get a big goofy grin plastered on my face when I go drive it since my DD ranger has so much less power.
