There is a cylinder shaped part on the HPOP. On the back (the side closest to the cab) is a plug with a O-ring on it. I believe it is 13/16" or something close to that. Have you checked this? It tends to loosen up and/or the o-ring go bad.

Here's a pic. It is the part the largest arrow is pointing to. I hope my explanation is understandable.

Sorry, can't get the pic to upload. It is a bmp file. Send me a PM and I can e-mail it to you if you like.:sorry

Which means it was probably idling and a short test drive. The oil would not have run to the back of the valley, and if it originated in the rear it would no have covered the front and the hpop he just worked on.

It could also be the turbo pedestal O rings. Here is a link to R&R

Do you know what part of the valley the turbo pedestal is in?

This guy was smart enough to work on his own truck, don't insult his intelligence. The correct answer was given.

Prodiesel, please don't think I insulted your intelligence as budro implied.
I posted that because these oil leaks can be hard to track down and process of elimination sometimes has to be used. I have had mine leak pretty bad and work it's way up to the front of the valley.

I didn't mean to start tearing the turbo apart and replace them on my word. Rather to look and see if that could be contributing to your leak, and if it is, well my links may or may not help you out but they're there.

When describing that he had oil in the valley, he said- oil in front again. Period.

In the forward part of the valley I've had both HPOP O-rings leak down at the same time, the IPR is also a good suspect for forward area oil leaks.

Have you soaked up all the oil in the valley then ran the engine while keeping a close eye of the area where the oil has been found? It can take awhile to observe for the oil drewl but it'll save ya the headache of having to R&R buried components like the turbo;)
