Plan on changing the fluid this spring and i was going to use mobil 1(atf).I heard that there is a new mobil 1(atf) out, does it really make a difference in the six speed?

Mercon SE is the only ATF approved for the TorqueShift, and it is only available from Ford. :sorry

But if he's changing 6spd fluid it would be a ZF6 right?

Welcome to SuperDutyDiesel ssd79!:sweet

If you have a ZF my manual says dexron/mercron rating. I don't think there's a difference between my ZF and later ones.:dunno

I've also wondered if the dual rating mattered in 6spds. From what I've read some people have used it with no problems so far. I chose to hunt down the original formula Mobil 1 ATF since that's what I had changed to when I got the truck.
