This may seem like a dumb question, but i dont know much about transmissions....... It seems my clutch is not always fully disengaging when i push in the pedal, i can be sitting there at idle with it in gear and the clutch pedal depressed and i can still feel it want to move a little, it does not do it when in nuetral, also along the same problem it seems to be getting harder to put into gear from a dead stop sometimes, mainly 1st and reverse
sorry its so long

Thanks:thanks

check yourfirewall by the brake master cylinder.have somebody step on the clutch while you watch.see if the clutch master cylinder or the firewalls moves when the clutch is depressed.this means you should have the firewall welded back together and get the reinforcementbrackets for it.

also watch your brake pedal when you step on the clutch.if it moves you most likely need the bushings and or the aluminum bracket that the clutch/brake pedals are attached to.

This is also a sign that your clutch may be going. Not releasing can be caused by several culprats as mentioned above. You are ready for a clutch if it is original equipment.

ok finally got around to investigating today, bushing on the pedal was wasted, i believe the mastercylinder rod was replaced because it has the matal rod not the plastic one. the master cylinder linkage was was slid off the pedal link pin, and just barley hanging there:eek:, i dont even know how it stayed on, it has been like that for so long it has the end of the pin wore so badly an eclip will not even stay on anymore:eek: .
Can i just get the piece the pedal pin is attached to, it looks like it should just come off with a nut at the top of the braket, or d i need to get the whole pedal assembly

Thanks

You can buy the lever with the pin in it at the dealer.Use a pencil to out line the old lever so you can put the new one on in the same location.Remove the nut and use 2 large screw drivers or prybars to get the old one off.You will notice splines on the shaft(that is why its hard to get off but it will come off). The new lever doesn't have splines thats why the match mark. The new lever has to go on in the exact same position as the old one came off. when you tighten the nut down on the new lever it will cut new splines in the lever.Put the new nylon bushing in the eye of the rod then slide it on the pin.I put a shot of silcone spray lube on the whole mess every oil change and no problems for the last 30,000 miles same bushing. The bushing is about $7 and the lever I think is $11.You will think you have a new tranny.

Lever replaced and back on the road, geesh that old lever was a major PITA to get off there. Feels like a completely different truck now.
