i have got 179kkk on the truck now and i feel like my truck doesn't shift as smooth as my brothers that only has 96kkk on. they are they same cc 4x4 truck. only one year apart. also my colom shifter seems sloppy. smotimes it seems like the truck doesn't wanna shift in od when i'm driving around town. the rpms always seem to be around 2 grand. is that normal for 40 - 45 mph? i thinka rebuild or a new tranny here in the next few months may be in order. any ideas on what way i should go?

If I was as close as you are I would look at a BTS transmission. I am having my tranny rebuilt currently here at a L & D Performance.

:DIf your column shifter is sloppy there are two torx screws under the steering column that may have come loose. So if you put it into OD it might be only in D and therefore higher RPM's. Lay on your back on the floor looking up under the steering column and wiggle the shifter around lightly. You will need a good flashlight. There is a U shaped clamp on the shifter linkage that becomes loose and makes the shifter very sloppy. If it gets very loose when you put it in park it may slip back into R, not a good idea. Use an extention and a torx bit (don't remember the size offhand) to tighten back up. Shifter should feel like a new truck again.

We have about 67k on our 2002 and the shifts are taking longer to go thru the gears even on an easy throttle. We have a BTS build lined up soon as the kids get out of school for the summer so we can make to trip to Lead Hill Arkansas:sweet
