Hello, Just checking to see if anyone has had the same problem with their transmission. I was loaded with a camper and towing a trailer down a long road with a steep grade. To avoid smoking my brakes I used low gear for most of the 11 mile down grade. It was a warm day, when I got to the bottom of the grade and noticed I was leaking ATF from the fylwheel inspection pan vent hole. I never noticed any slipping or strange sounds. After sending a friend to get me fluid the next day, I had leaked the better part of four gallons coming down the hill! Having filled it back up, it wasn't leaking? I made it back up the hill before it started leaking again? This was a steep hill. It leaked for another 2 or 3 miles and has not leaked since? I have traveled 500+ miles since, but not with any load. The transmission does not slip and shifts fine? Is there a pressure relief valve or something? I don't have a trans temp gauge so don't know if that was the problem.:dunno

Thanks for the response. Was the seal difficult to replace or is this a job for repair shop with the special tools?
