oops...edit... I have had my EX 18 months, 31K miles!!!

I have had my EX a year and a half and 31K miles now, and have been quite happy *AFTER* getting it lifted 4" and putting real tires and shocks on it. I off-road and tow seriously, all the time, and stock the truck is unsuitable for either.
The factory tires are just, well, silly...

Then putting on the LandYot Radius Rods.

Then fixing the frame:

I just picked my truck up from the Ford dealer, VILLA FORD in Orange, California.

I was very pleased with them!

My issues in a year and a half that needed addressing:

1.
Recall from Ford to replace an exhaust sensor and reflash.
Result: better pick-up, much less turbo lag, slight increase in mileage.

2.
Loose wire on positive terminal of left-side battery.
Result: replaced nut, tight now.

3.
Boot on drag-link torn at steering box pitman arm.
Result: replaced entire end of arm and free alignment.

4.
Oil leaks at all (especially left-front) flexible connections of intercooler hose.
Result: tightened and cleaned.

5.
Left and right front windows scratched from dirt getting stuck in felt
Result: new windows ordered, to be installed.

6.
Switch to right rear back side-opening window in overhead console
failed, shorted and melted plastic console.
Result: new switch, console on order to be installed.

7.
Back-up alarm failed, sounds at all times.
Result: sensors to be replaced.

8.
Hydro-boost pump noisy.
Result: replaced at no charge, and what a difference! I did not know that there should be ZERO noise from this pump, it has made noise and even howled from the first month.

My brakes work better and my steering is now silent.

All this warranty work was done quickly and for absolutely NO CHARGE under the factory 36K/3year "bumper-to-bumper" warranty...as of course it should be...

Sounds like you had a great experience! Good for you, seems they're either few and far between or just not talked about too often. Is your dealer mod friendly? Seems that the lift might make them think twice about any warranty work on the suspension, etc, but looks like you might be okay. :dunno

I had doubts myself, and if you add the big tires, rancho SS, shocks and welded broken track-bar mount (see link) I had my doubts.

However the service writer/dealer didn't bat an eye or say a thing, just got it done, and judging by the tool marks, while aligning the front end they adjusted my FabTech aftermarket adjustable track-bar while doing my free alignment.

Kinda hard to miss the mod on that one, since the factory bar is non-adjustable.

This dealer is one I have never been to before, but I liked thier website, and they advertise doing lifts etc. on factory-new trucks, so i assumed they had a clue.

They also have four diesel techs, the dealer I bought from had one, who seemed to never be there.
