I'm gonna do some front end work on my 1999 F250 SuperDuty. The upper and lower ball joints are loose in there sockets and the front suspension sag quite a bit (They have have the weight of that Diesel Engine on them for 10 years and 215,000 miles).

Anyway I went out to price out a DayStar leveling spacer kit for the 2WD and they dident recommend it and said I would probably have to spend 3 hours labor to get the Alignment right. The funny thing about this is the construction company I bought the truck from gave me there maintenence records and 50000 miles ago the alignment shop recommended new springs and installed the Largest offset cams in both side and Camber is Maxed out at 1/4 neg.

Long Story Short, I want to raise the front end up a bit to get the truck closer to level. I am not gonna install larger tires, (gonna install New set of Michelin XPS RIB 235/85/16 I just think the duped front look goofy. I realize new springs will also raise it up a bit but I like the Idea of Spacers on the old springs as the ride would probably be nicer the the super stiff new spring. What I would really like to do is install some leveling front springs like the T-Rex Ones I put on my old Dodge Ram 3500 4X4 I had. No Spacers just longer stock looking springs.

Thanks PHX F250

Many times these 2wd fords can be brought back into alignment simply by replacing the stock springs with fresh ones, but the rake will still be there. After working at an alignment shop for 13 years my recommendation would be to replace the springs and add the spacer to level the front end if you like. The weakened front springs do more than just lower the front end, they greatly change the control of the truck over the bumps and can effect scrub radius and toe out on turns that can wear tires prematurely, and still look good on an "average" alingment rack. for the best bang for the buck, chabge out the springs, and see were it puts the front end according to level, then if you want more, ad the spacers. If every thing is straight under there, the alignment should come right in with mimimal camber/caster bushings. Hope this helps
