I'm trying to help my friend out. He has a 6.4 with 2300miles. It is a Southern Comfort truck (fancy paint, 6" procomp lift, 20" wheels, 35" tires. This edition is sold by FORD. The rear is lifted by blocks. The problem is that the truck came with a 2" block stacked on a 4" block which seperated last week. The dealership is not standing behind the truck and neither is Southern Comfort even though they built the truck this way. Since he cant seem to get things done he is going to lower the truck to a 4" lift. Anyone else have 20" wheels with 35" tires with 4" of lift? Any help would be great. So would pictures.

Yea thats crap, what ever dealer he got it from should cover so long as they stated that. The GMC dealer in COS was doing the same lift, wheels ,tires and it was all covered under warranty.

the only blocks for a ford that we can find are 5.5". I know that this is close, but close isnt good enough for a brandnew truck. there are 6" blocks for gm's. just for the record i think lifting a diesel is stupid. only because i use mine for hauling and towing. if i had to lift some of my tools any higher my eyes would pop out. his truck does look nice though.

I beg to differ on the warranty. Southern Comfort builds these trucks and the Ford dealers buy them from SC, at least that is my understanding.

The Ford dealer would do the warranty work on the lift and stuff thru Southern Comfort or bill SC for the work done.

Seeing how SC is located in Trussville, AL, I dont think you would want to drive all the way down here just to have warr. work done to it.

I would challenge the dealer if they buck up and say they wont take care of ya.

I would have to agree with bama on this one. Alot of dealers are selling "upfited trucks" as being covered under warenty and thay should stand by there product.

First off, what exactly happened to the blocks? They can't shoot out under normal conditions. If the u-bolts were not tight or your buddy hit a huge hole off roading it then I could see it , but not under normal conditions.Just wondering how it happened, not doubting that it did.

Second
Yes the dealership should cover the repair unless it was abuse. The factory suspension warranty is void but thats it. The rest of the vehicle is still covered except those parts that are replaced. If you have any issue just bring up the Magnuson-Moss Act . The dealership sells the unit but southern Comfort will cover the repairs on the dealer end. The dealership will just back bill Southern Comfort. I deal with this everyday. Did you take it to the same dealership you bought it from? If a dealership does not stock coverted trucks they will not want to cover it.

Third
As far as your buddies truck is concerned; When we build Superduties we pull the factory 2" block out and replace it with a factory 4" block. This eliminates double stacking. The 4" block plus an AAL will give you 5-5.5" lift in the rear which should be all you need for a 6" front lift.

I'll tell him to bring up the M&M act. He does not wheel or even use this truck for work. Its his pretty truck, mall crusier if you will. Thanks.
