Was checking out the Powertrain details on the '08 6.4L Powerstroke and Ford put in print that it'll handle & recommends B5:sweet

Media Ford

A larger fuel filter better separates water from the fuel, an important asset with the onset of biodiesel. Ford recommends B5 (5 percent biodiesel) for Super Duty’s 6.4-liter PowerStroke turbo Diesel.

glad to hear that but sure wish they would grow a pair and pull the trigger on bio. B5 really isnt worth the bother to find. Which might be precisely why they will only recommend that level.

They may have put the B5 in print just to keep the BD crowd happy,I'd think B20 would be okay but who's gonna volunteer their new truck as a guinea pig:D

The B5 is prolly for lubricity more than anything along with BD lobbyists satisfaction. I wonder if they have even tested using B100.:dunno B20 would be nice to be approved but there's only one farm implement manufacturer that has approved B20 which is New Holland. Haven't kept up, New Holland use to be partially owned by Ford I don't know if it still is. The Big Green machines(JD) are rolling off with B5 on there new common rail engines, sure would be nice to have the machines that make the feedstock possible run on the fuel.:tounge -popcorn

hmm
they allow that now, just paying homage it sounds like. I am with rooster.
get off the bench and take a stand for b20 or higher.

b5 is not realy that much and ULSD is mixed with bio as a lubricant that is missing now from teh sulphur, :dunno

The Beast runs quieter every time I have put B20 in the tank. I was doing that regularly when I was making runs to Birmingham last month with my father being in the hospital there. I've had no problems with it. But I don't have a 6.4. Ohter than a small oil leak fixed under warranty, the engine has been running like a champ.
