Yes, it is a drum parking brake assembly. I know you have rear disc brakes, but the parking brake is a drum brake. Adjustments are done through the little window (covered with a ribber plug) on the back side of the backing plate near the bottom of the plate. Just like the old days. Move the star wheel up (I think) to tighten the parking brake. It may be down, but you will know soon enough.

I too have a 05, and I adjusted my parking brake shoes but still have a low pedal. I went under the truck to find a adjustment but saw none. Anyone know if there is on?

According to my Ford DVD, there is a cable that runs along the driver's side frame rail. The cable splits into two cables about the same position as the driver's seat along the frame rail. You can adjust it there.

Ok Here's what happened to mine. I too had the very low parking brake pedal, and all the adjustment in the world did nothing to help. The cluprit was the parking brake assembly, you know, the one where you step on the pedel to set the brake. After the new install all is working ok. BTW don't set the brake like an elephant just a little will do. Oh! and mine failed at 14k miles.:thanks
