I'm upgrading to a 200 amp alternator and have a wiring question. My stock alternator has the charging wire pass through a solenoid on the inside of passenger's fender then to the passenger side battery. When I upgrade they want me to use an additional #4 gauge charging wire connected from the alternator directly to the battery AND want me to leave the stock wiring in place through the solenoid. Does this make sense?
