I think Bama has done this. Where do I need to send power to shift the transfer case to Low Range and not engage the hubs? (Truck has ESOF)

Remove power from the vaccum pump. I have a link to the mod but not on this pc. Maybe someone else has it.

unplug the electrical connection of the vacuum servo on the P/S fender that engages the hubs.

I think it was Ford Forgotton who had stuff on it on his pages.

I've thought about doing this, pull the factory switch panel and replace it with a blank off a 2WD. Use two Carling Contura's to select High-Low, and 2WD-4WD.

Haven't done it yet, and don't know the details on how to do it yet either....

That way you have that low range power, and the wheels do not jerk like in 4 low. Backing my rig into a camp site sometime I pop the hood and just pull the red wire on my relay and it only goes into 2 low and not 4 low. One of these day I'm going put a switch on it but yet to do it.
