Has anyone experienced a brake line failure on these model Superduty. After hitting another 99 Ford Dually looking at the truck the passenger side brake line blew. I took the truck back to my shop and pulled the lines off to have stainless braided made I found that the crimps on both front lines have rotted. Talk =ing to the brake line guy he says that is an everyday occurance. So has anyone has this problem or who will have this problem what happens is all the dirt, sand, mud, salt gets trapped behind the rubber shield and sits in the clamp and rotts it out. Let me know what you all think. Here is a picture for you all...

This is the passenger side line where the line goes from rubber to steel to the caliper

I had a rear line blow on my dad's '90 when I was in a wreck, it was pretty rusted and I must have hit the brakes pretty hard when I hit the ditch ;)

Man that looks bad. Sure hope no one was hurt.
Now everyone needs to go out on the next sunny
day and check out there brake lines, just to be safe.

I can't tell you how many brake lines we replace in a year..
and usually they're rusted right at the clips where they attach to the body.

of course we see the more common "just flat crusty and old" quite often too...

good thing steel line comes in 25ft rolls...
