Bought a 1500 watt Inverter for our FW trailer. I havent committed to anything yet but I'm thinking about mounting it as close to the Batteries as I can and then running 10Ga. 120v stranded wire to an outlet near the TV/DVD player ('bout 10 feet). My question is:

Can/could I plug the TV into this outlet and power (Dedicate) it off the inverter, even tho I'm plugged into 30amp/120v (?) without doing damage to the Batts, Inverter or the RV Inverter that charges the Batts ??

I got tired of being on hold, "Waiting for the next Technical Advisor" to assit me.

It's my First (Inverter) time, so be gental;) :)

Your Thoughts, Knowledge & Opinions Please.

:thanks

While inefficient I don't see a problem doing it. I would not recommend firing up the TV right after plugging in if the batteries are dead. As long as the batteries have some charge the charger should not be overloaded especially considering the small draw that a TV/DVD player has. It would be better to have two outlets near the TV so that you can switch it over to regular power when you can. When converting the 120 power to 12v then back to 120v you will use more electricity. I forget what % is lost in the conversion but it is a little. Keeping the inverter as close to the batteries as possible is a good idea.
