This is my dads truck, we need some help here. 2003 F350 CC dually 4wd. 498,*** miles. I don't actually have the truck it's at a shop in Harrisburg, PA and they can't figure it out. Truck just shut off going down the road. Towed to shop, 340PSI on ICP after about 5 seconds of cranking will climb to about 340 and no more. Replaced HPOP truck will still not start and getting about 370 PSI, still after cranking for a few seconds not immediately. Shop called and told him after HPOP replacement it is now throwing "ECM" codes. Anybody have any ideas??

probably throwing "ICP above/below desired"
sounds like the IPR is stuck wide-ass open

Dad doesn't remember the codes, tech just told him "ECM codes" is what he said. Tech also said they replaced the IPR with another known good one, still same issue.

Might sound Dumb.. but are the Batteries in good volt & amp condition ? Terminals Clean & Free of >ANY< corrosion. Alternator output correct ?

These are often overlooked.. but can cause all sorts of ECM/PCM code issues and are a Very good place to start troubleshooting.

That's what I'm thinking the codes probably come from, what I was told they had done lot's of cranking on it and the batteries have probably died down causing the codes. Hard to say for sure not knowing what they are though.

Agreed. Second guessing can't/won't solve anything on Turkey-day. But you might mention the Batts, Terminals and Alternator to the Tech.. when you can.

New hpop (no start)

With the kind of mileage your dad has on that pick-up the new hpop might have blown the oil control rings on the fuel injectors, i've seen it a few times on the t444e and yet the scan tool the shop is using will still show icp pressure on the rail. I would agree with the ecm/idm codes caused by the battery voltage dropping to critical levels. You need to get the p'codes from the repair facility a.s.a.p. Too, good luck man.

The injectors only have about 50,000 on them, and the oil rings on the injectors were replaced about 30,000 miles ago...from what I know of the condition, I'm kinda leaning towards injector o-rings anyways. The shop doesn't have the equipement to isolate the heads and check the HPOP pressure though, so we're still kinda in limbo. Dad called the shop this morning and they said they think the codes were because the batteries were low(go figure). I'll keep you guys updated...

Because it just plain "[Shut Down]".. makes me think about the Oil Level too. (?)
