just drove by my fill station for dino diesel and they raised it to $3.39 / gal yet they are lowering gasoline prices. I have been thinking both ways of bio and WVO. I think WVO would be easier to run with a in bed tank and still have the option of running dino in the main tank under the bed of the truck. I was talking to a guy who has a 06 dodge running veggie and he said all diesels can run it. They are installing conversions in all diesels and not had any problems. I just hate to have a problem that would be costly down the road.

Also does running bio or WVO lower the mpg over dino or is it the same?

It may lower your mileage a little bit, but not generally. What you should do is carry a fuel filter behind your seat at all times in case yours gets filled up with the junk in your tank/fuel system. This can and will leave you stranded if you are not prepared.

I just filled with B20 since my B100 source crapped out on me.

I filled with just over 67g, ~1050 miles all in town....got 16.09 MPG. That was on B100 and I got anywhere from 15-17 on #2 before. I got 14.9mpg roundtrip to Las Vegas towing about 4500lbs. To Vegas was B100, on the way back I filled with 63g of #2.:dunno

Don't know about WVO....I'm scared of the fatty acids in VO. I will only run refined biodiesel.

I ran two tanks of B20 through the truck when I took a trip to Memphis. Cumulative fuel economy went up 1.5 miles per gallon. It made the engine run a bit quieter, too. I wish I could get it here, but the nearest biodiesel pumps are 60 miles away in Pensacola.

WVO will run fine. Jason aka Fordnut74 (http://www.vegistroke.com) had something over 100,000 miles on WVO on one of his as I recall. Alot of other guys with Super Dutys run it too. Even if it were to kill the engine after 100k (not that it will), you would have saved approx 6000 gallons on fuel, or $18,000 at todays prices.

Biodiesel is potentially less risky, but you would have to make it yourself to save money. Long term it costs more than WVO to run.

I believe B-100 has 5% less energy than #2. I have no way to determine my MPGs with WVO because I have no meter on my pump (It's a transfer pump in a 55 gal barrel). However, since the WVO is free...WHO CARES! :D BTW, I've logged 2K WVO miles so far w/o a problem. :sweet
