    Help Needed 2008 F350 or 1999 F350

The broken stuff on your '99 is all repairable. Most of it is pretty simple. How long would you keep the '99 if everything worked? Mileage on the new truck is pretty high. It probably won't take you long to get to the mileage you are currently at on the '99. For this deal, I would fix...

I'm calling the dealer tomorrow to schedule my upgrade. From what I have seen today the upgrade will not be available until end of August.

    Question Vacuum problem or A/C

Or the one that like to wedge her flip flops under the dash so she can put her feet up. This was after I scolded her for getting the dash dirty.

    Question Vacuum problem or A/C

Also check up under the glove box. There is a vacume connector there that can get disconnected by the passenger's feet.

I haven't got one yet but it will be the next mod. There is a huge silencer on the intake that will be removed when the aFe gets installed. No need to modify the exhaust. Right now there are only DPF back kits available. DPF pipes are available but there is no tuning ready to support them.

Question Custome Tire Wheel / Lift ?

I'm planning on running 35x12.50 on the stock 18" wheels. There are a few guys who have fit them on a stock truck. I am planning on using a leveling kit in the front and blocks from a F350. Even with a larger tire you are only going to gain a couple inches.

Question 2011 ULSD & Computer Questtion

I probably don't need it but it's a habit that I got from my 7.3.

Question 2011 ULSD & Computer Questtion

Lubricity is lost in the manufacturing of ULSD. There are tons of articles that go into the chemistry and explain why ULSD has less lubricity than LSD or off-road fuel.

Question 2011 ULSD & Computer Questtion

EPA standard is 15ppm. I would think that lower quantities wouldn't be an issue. I would definitely add a fuel addative like Power Service or Stanadyne to lubricate the fuel system.

The turn signal was something to get use to. There is a detent between the lane change (3 blinks) and the turn signal. The hardest thing was realizing that the stalk returned to center and the signal continues to signal until the turn is complete or you actuate the signal again. For those...

Urea usage is about 1 gallon to 1000 miles. I've bought two gallons at a truckstop in MT for about $8.50/gal. Bought 2.5 gallons at the dealership for about $19.95. Local parts stores are not yet carrying it. I didn't see many truckstops carrying it on our trip from NY to WA either. I...

I have over 6000 miles on mine. 2800+ towing with no complaints. Empty mileage is between 16 and 17mpg.(3.55 gears) The lie-o-meter is actually acurate. Engine is very quiet. With the radio on and windows up you don't hear any enigine or road noise. That will change soon when I get an aFe...

I wanted to build one that looked like my old truck. Never got around to it. Maybe I'll build one to match the new one.

    Air bag use

I've seen it set up both ways. Mine are set up connected together. Before I installed the in-cab controls I used my shop air compressor to inflate them through a schraeder valve that I installed in the rear bumper.

    Air bag use

Firestone makes a kit for trucks with 5th wheel/GN hitches. They mount inside the frame rail. Ford Super Duty F250 / F350 Firestone Air Bags 1999-2004 - (# 2330) Suspension Air Bag Helper Springs Don't pay attention to the pictures. I had this kit on my old 2000

Question Dynatrac Super Duty Upgrade Kit

Dyna-trac uses the Warn hubs and the Full Traction kit uses Mile Markers. Both are good kits. Dyna-trac makes some good stuff but it's pretty pricey and normally on back order. If you plan on keeping the truck I think it is a good upgrade. I ran the Full Traction Freespyn kit on my 2000.

    Truck bed camper shells.

It will need to be all custom. I have seen one truck that a guy cut holes in the shell's roof for his stacks.

How does the Dodge Hub System Work?

Just the transfer case if I remember correctly. There are a few companies out there who make a kit to add hubs. Saves 1-2 mpg.

Have you check your trailer tire pressure?

    Turbo diesel headers??

For a full blown race/pulling truck yes. For a daily/tow rig no. I ran ceramic coated (inside and out) up pipes on my old 7.3 with no noticeable difference. Like stated ealier, cost does not out weight the gains. Going to a larger injector will spool the 38r just fine. I ran 160cc single...

    First tow with new truck

Made it to Spokane, WA today. Averaged 10.2 pulling all of the passes on I-90. I had a guy in an empty D-max pull up to me on the Continental divide. He paced me and I eased into it up to 75. Truck never downshifted out of 5th. (which is an OD gear). I could hear him downshift to keep up...

    First tow with new truck

All mileage hand calculated. Towing #6800 in a 7x16 tandem axle trailer. Ceiling is 6.5'. Low: 10.5mpg @ 75-80mph w/ headwind. High: 13.2mpg @ 65-70mph no headwind. No complaints yet. Tow/Haul downshifting is very aggressive. We are currenlty in Chamberlain, SD. Off to Mt. Rushmore...
