    Is the foil burnt or is it blackened with soot from an exhaust leak? Also check the driver side valve cover. There is a small 90* hose that goes into the intake. See if it came loose.

    Did some more logging today. Injector pulse width is falling less than 1.0ms when the missing occurs. Not sure if the miss is causing pulse width to drop or if pulse width is droping causing the miss.

    Replaced alternator. No change. I pulled my new (to me) 7x16 enclosed trailer home today and felt the miss more frequently. Whenever the engine slightly increased rpm I could feel it. Didn't feel it where I normally do when empty. Probably because the truck needed more rpm quicker.

    Napa tested the alternator and it was bad. Replaced alternator. No more voltage fluctuations. Still need to find the cause of my miss.

    RPM should be around 1900. Rev it up and take a reading. You will probably need a helper unless you can prop up your meter so you can see it from the driver's seat.

    70 mph in OD with 3.73 gears is about 2000 rpm. You could do it by ear. Just some engine speed up over idle and you should be close.

    Had the alternator tested Tuesday night and it checked out fine. Battery light came on today above 1200rpm. It went out at idle. Voltage fluctuated between 11.8 and 12V. Got on the interstate and after about a mile or two at 2000 rpm light went off and voltage was 14-14.5V. WTF?

    I got the miss to occur between 2300-2350 rpm. MAP was 16.6-16.7psi, Manifold Gauge pressure was 1.81 - 1.88psi. I also had the alternator tested and it passed. Not sure it the load tester tests the regulator and the guy at Advanced Auto couldn't answer that question.

    Because when they reflash your PCM with "updates" and your truck will no longer run with your chip or they burn over custom tuning, it's a good reason to kick someone's ***.

    Make sure to cut off a piece of your old hose to prevent chaffing when you hose clamp the new one to the alt. bracket.

    It will be hard to calculate unless you get figure out what the residual value at the end of the lease. That is pretty much what you will payment will be based on. I am going to guess and say $750 for 36 months w/12k miles a year.

    I got it to fail CCT today. First it failed on #3. I swapped out my new grey CPS for the old black one and re-ran the test. #2 (P0266) and #7 (P0281) failed once and I even re-ran the test to confirm the problem. I'll keep monitoring it this week and pull the injectors next weekend.

    I order injector o-rings and an IPR o-ring kit yesterday. Plan is to pull, inspect, and replace injector o-rings. Pull IPR clean and replace o-rings. Hopefully int will be something obvious like a cracked nozzle.

    Hey, I'm not old and I remember forddiesel.com. Very interesting that they acknowledge all of the enthusist sites when they had issues with the name "forddiesel". Maybe they have them linked so their mechanics can figure things out.

    I do have my old Auto/Manual hubs if you want them. I have also heard that soaking the hubs in ATF or diesel will free them up.

    Give Northridge 4x4 a call, he should be able to take care of you locally. I think I have my old ones still here at the house. I'll take a look. They were working when I took them off to install the Solid Axle Free Spyn kit. I will send them to you for the cost of shipping.
