Question What did you do to your truck today?

Changed the oil for the first time on the new truck two days ago. Drain plug is a 1/4 turn and pull to remove. Oil comes out FAST!

    Regen additive

I bought a gallon a few days ago for $9.37/gal at a local dealer. Oil filter was $40.

    First tow with new truck

I don't have many pics yet. (I don't carry a camera very often.) There are few on here somewhere. Leaving WNY this morning headed for WA.

    First tow with new truck

Probably won't be stopping. I have an online college class that starts the 27th. We are planning on stopping at Mt. Rushmore for a day. My brother is getting married Saturday so that is delaying our departure.

    First tow with new truck

Took the trailer for a test run after I got it loaded. 6800#. Pulled some decent hills and accelerated all the way up. Tow/haul mode does a good job braking on decent. Airbags and rear sway bar will added soon. The longer leaf springs sag a little easier. Sway isn't too bad. Trailer...

Finished my on-board air install (comprssor, tank, horns, and 50' reel). Installed back-up lights, mud flaps, and CB.

    Quick 6.7 mod

Cat/DPF delete pipes are available. Tuning to run the pipe is currently only available through live tuning from a couple tuners who have been working the 6.4 as well.

    Quick 6.7 mod

I am quite surprised as well. Each fill up I reset Trip A and the MPG. Each hand calculation is .2-.3 less than the lie-o-meter. The highest I have seen while cruising is 19.7mpg. Best hand calculated tank to date (1400 miles) is 18.2. I'll get 2800 miles of towing mileage at the end of the...

Lets see those SuperDuty Trucks!! (OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD)

There was only about 70-80 60# bales on the wagons. Pulled like it wasn't there other than the normal wagon surging on the draw pin. It was nice sitting in an AC truck after unloading wagons. I retired from farming 14 years ago at age 18 when I enlisted in the Navy. The things we do for our...

Lets see those SuperDuty Trucks!! (OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD)

First "load" with the new truck. Did some hay this weekend at my brother's.

    Quick 6.7 mod

I'm throwing the flag on the 17 mpg towing. I got 17.9 (hand calc) Thursday on a 300 mile trip running 60-75 highway. Lie-o-meter said 18.1 mpg.

    Regen additive

The urea tank is about 5 gallons and is designed to last as long as the oil change intervals. The truck will warn you when there is about 800 miles left. It will continue to warn you as you get closer too empty. Once empty the truck will go into limp mode. Lots of time to get it filled back up.

    Damn Door Chime is annoying!

The procedure I posted will only kill the key in ignition.

    Damn Door Chime is annoying!

You need to remove the ignition switch. -Remove the plastic piece on the bottom of the steering column. There are 3 or 4 torx heads. -Put the key in the ignition -Under the core there is a shinny ball, push it in and turn the key clockwise and remove the switch. -There are...

    driveshaft carrier bearing ?'s

It is pressed on and off. I had my local transmission shop do it for me. You will save some money by pulling the drive shaft yourself and providing them with the bearing.

Question more new truck-buying decisions '10 vs '11

My '11 with 3.55 feel no different than my chipped 7.3 with 3.73 and my cruising rpm is lower.

    Chip and trans life

I have had it for two weeks and I only have 400 miles on it. I am currently in Groton, CT at a school that has required way too much studying. I'm making a road trip to Cortland, NY Memorial Day weekend. I'll provide a full write up then as well as after my 2700 mile tow to WA in June. So...

    Chip and trans life

Higher line pressures are good to a point. I side towards increasing line pressures mechanically.

    Chip and trans life

Most 4r100s need help stock. A good TC and shift kit would be your best bet to a lasting trans with a chip. It's hard to say how long the stock trans will hold an 80e. It's not going to let go in a week or month but eventually it will get tired.

Question more new truck-buying decisions '10 vs '11

I have a 3.55 rear. My first fill up was 15.1 mpg (hand calc). All city. My bed is also full of stuff. Probably 1200lbs. I think you have plenty of room with the 3.31. On easy takeoffs I am in 3rd before I am through an intersection (not in tow/haul mode). I couldn't find a truck with...

Question more new truck-buying decisions '10 vs '11

I never had a 6.4 but I am loving the 6.7. 15mpg hard city out of the box. Haven't had it on the interstate yet. E-locker rear and manually shiftable 6 speed auto did it for me along with it being an in house engine. I am willing to bet that we will see aftermarket stuff before the end of...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

I did it on the old truck. This one has a chipped key. Will I screw up anything if I do it on the new one?

Question What did you do to your truck today?

I only have a couple (if you can call them complaints). It is so new that I can't find any after market stuff for it. Seat covers, mud flaps, etc... Also need to find a wiring diagram/service manual so I can disconnect the key in ignition/door open chime. Headlights seem a bit dim as well...

Who Will Be The First To Own A 2011 Super Duty?

I posted some pics in the "what did you do to your truck today" thread. This truck is amazing compared to my 2000. Rides better, turns better, and is insanely quiet. I've bumped the starter twice with it alreay running. I'm staying on base so I don't even have a tank of fuel through it...

    Home Foreclosures

If she is having problems with any bills she needs to be straight up with them. Let them know the situation and what her recovery plan is. Banks and creditors want their money. Some is better than none. Good luck.
