    Best mileage plus horsepower increase

Welcome... how much is slightly? As you will soon learn, most folks try to lean away from the K&N setup as it doesn't filter as well as other options out there. There are lots of cheap mods that will make a little bit of a difference.

    Big Oil Leak

If you want to replace the pan, yes, pulling the engine is required. For now, they are trying to patch it so I don't have to do that.... Just saw your sig...made me laugh but I'm sorry....

    Big Oil Leak

Just wanted to update this situation -- I ended up taking this to the shop to replace my rear main seal... Patrick was right, the big problem was the dust cover rubbed a hole into the oil pan. The rear main was "seeping", so it didn't hurt anything to go ahead & replace that. I haven't...

    Oil fill extension

I checked with a local dealer, he said the computer doesn't indicate that it's for the OBS trucks...but at less than 4 bucks, I think it'd be worth a shot. I have one of these on my Suburban :sorry and it works great. Haven't spilled a drop of oil when re-filling. I haven't had any other...

    troubles

Wow...I know what you're feeling. If it was me, I'd take a sample of the fuel and get it tested. I know that one time I had a batch of homemade fuel that I didn't wash (first batch)... it had a lot of glycerine in it and it would clog a filter in no-time. At least that way you can ask for...

    Anniversary Celebration!!!!!

I got invited to the forums via a post on another forum. I hadn't ever been to another "diesel" site before. Let me tell you, I didn't know what I was missing! It's great to be able to freely ask questions and have lots of different opinions on the topic. I also like that if someone asks a...

    TracerLine LeakFinder Kit

Definitely worth it...to use a detector. The only negative I see is that you'll have to buy some more dye to check your system for leaks ($20 - $30). Usually these things are 1oz to 1 gallon of oil. The kit just comes with 1 bottle of engine dye. I've been hunting my oil leak for a while and...

    Possible Turbo problems...

It might be your MAP sensor. If it's toast, I would think it would change your performance -- the computer doesn't know how much air is getting in, and doesn't add the right amount of fuel (usually not enough).

    Air filter gauge thingy

I would say that gauge doesn't work... As you have noted, it's way past being replaced before the gauge ever reads anything. When I had the stock setup, I'd check it every other oil change or so (more frequent if driving in dusty conditions) and replace accordingly. Now, with the DIY Conical...

    help comfuser issues

Sounds like it may be a firewall/content filter that may be blocking...like you say, since you can ping out, you are definitely getting out to the net for that traffic, so it's got to be something else blocking it. Do any sites work? (I know this is the only one that counts...) Sorry I'm not...

    fuel filter light

The light on the dash is for the filter in the engine compartment. I do not think there is a filter between the tank and the front of the truck (at least haven't seen one on mine) It's also possible that your sending unit is fixing to bite the dust, but that wouldn't necessarily cause the...

    Laptop Mount Pics

Adjustments are just from semi-loosely threaded fittings. They're tight enough to hold it in position, but you can manipulate it's position pretty easy.. In it's position now, there's just enough room to shift comfortably where your hand doesn't hit the top when going into 5th or reverse...

    EBPV actuator oring location

They looked pretty good. I don't guess they were leaking either... In fact, after I got it all out, I wondered --- did I really need to do this? At least I was able to learn a bit more in the process. :thumbs

    EBPV actuator oring location

    EBPV actuator oring location

Need a bit of help. I've finally got my turbo out, and I don't know if maybe my EBPV actuator rod's oring is missing or if I just can't see it. Anyone know of a part number for that oring, and where it goes? Is it visible externally (of the turbo)? Thanks
