    Weak Brakes

pedal feels just like it always does...wouldn't call it firm, but not really spongy either... It seems like I've always been able to keep pushing through the pedal Previously, the harder I pushed, the quicker the stop, but it seems like there was always some more to press. Now, I can get to...

    Weak Brakes

I checked the vacuum line going into my brake booster, it sucks ok...when I unhooked the line, I heard a sucking sound, so I think it's holding pressure OK.. so....are ya'll saying that the hydroboost system is the one that uses the PS pump? Any ideas on my weak braking condition?

    Weak Brakes

Got a quick question that I think I know the answer to, just wanting to verify.... Are the brakes and power steering run off the same pump? As you may recall, I had my power steering hose explode again and had to run the pump dry for a few hours. While the power steering is working fine...

    over boost eliminator

You can buy a 4.7 Volt ZENER diode, put in in-line with the MAP sensor. This fools the computer by sending a MAX of 4.7 volts to the computer. This voltage is just low enough the computer doesn't see it as over-boost. I got my ZENER diode locally from a TV repair place. They ripped me off --...

Pictures of OBS trucks I use to have!!

Pretty nice trucks...I like the 96 -- sweet color. It's neat thinking about our old vehicles.. When I was little, I remember we had a 1986 Ford Escort Wagon. L. That thing was pretty cool. Jet black, gold Einke wheels. Wish I still had that thing.

    FW Owners

We have an old Terry FW -- 2002 model I think. Obviously a lower class than what you're looking at, but maybe some hints nonetheless. Here's what I'd change about it: * I'd like to be able to stand up EVERYWHERE. * Kitchen in the middle (above axles) * King Bed * Counterspace -- do they...

The amount of stupidity in this world never ceases to amaze me.

HUMAN CAUSED GLOBAL WARMING, THINK IT'S A FACT??

I went to that calculator -- I'd have to pay $264 a year in offsets.

HUMAN CAUSED GLOBAL WARMING, THINK IT'S A FACT??

I agree dlonno -- His home utilities are at least 10x more than the average Joe. Don't you think if he were REALLY concerned about the situation he would have cut his usage? And "carbon credits"? What good does paying someone (Al Gore owns a piece of the company you'd pay these to, BTW) do...

    Power Steering Hose Explosion

My pump looks to be alright after the trip. The worst part for me is putting the hose BACK on, the nut that's not attached to the pump is a bugger to get started.

    Power Steering Hose Explosion

Ooops, I did it again. Just under 1 year. I was on a long trip, had to drive it for about 150 miles after the hose busted...could the pump be destroyed? (The res still had *some* fluid in it, the rest dripped out once I was parked at home.) Planning on fixing later today, so I'll fire it up...

    anybody try this?

I don't think your statement is quite right.... Biodiesel, when made properly, should contain NO ALCOHOL. It is used as part of a chemical reaction, and during the process, most of it settles out with the glyercin. Any other traces should be removed when the fuel is washed. This CX-1 is...

why is there a diff between being cold and warm?

Here's an excerpt from a write-up regarding the EOT mod:

why is there a diff between being cold and warm?

I think the real reason you see a difference is because the computer is adjusting the timing based on the engine oil temp. When you start off, and it's cold, the engine is advancing the timing just a little bit. After you get it up to operating temps, it's just like any other warm day..

    18k mod

I made an "adjustable" mod for this....I ran the two wires for the mod into the cab, and put a jack used for networking computers on the end. Then, I made up several plugs that I could put in with the different resistor values. I could switch from stock (no plug), to a plug with any different...

    bio fuel?

Another option you have is to buy B100, then mix as you see fit. One of the lubrication studies that I think CHPMustang posted indicated that biodiesel, at 2%, was better for lubrication than just about anything else. Obviously, you can't buy B2 at any pump, but you could save some dough by...

fuel everywhere!!!!!!!! puddle the size of my truck!!!

If you're talking about the lines that run to each of the heads, you don't have to but that at ford, but it may be easier. If you can find a good hose shop, they should be able to make you one up (bring in the old one and they can copy it). Aeroquip is the original maker of that hose, I...

Ahh -- I thought you took it somewhere to get done, and they did that to your handiwork!

Ever wonder what the installers are hiding...

Wow...pretty ugly. Doesn't look they even tried to make that look good. I could probably stand that for my own vehicle, but I wouldn't do that to someone else's for sure! BTW -- want to sell one of your old amps?
