    tire and wheel questions

I am debating between running 37's on 18's or sticking with the 35" and running 20 or 22" wheels. 1) How much faster will the steering components wear out running 37's compared to 35's? 2) How much is the ride affected by running 20+" wheels with 35's. Ive had 20's on an SUV and they...

    05 truck with 04 seats?

hmmm...guess it has to do with the type of seat i have. I went online and looked at like 10 05's that were for sale and none of them had a center console like mine, so I assume that was what came with 05's. Guess I was wrong

    05 truck with 04 seats?

The 04's have the wide center console that folds down on top of the ***** seat. But on the 05's i have not seen one with a middle seat, and all of the center consoles are different. Maybe the ones i have seen just had captain chairs instead.

    05 truck with 04 seats?

I never noticed until today, but my 05 f-350 has the center console from the 04 SD's. I checked the door sticker and it says 2/05, so I was not lied to about it being an 05. I cant figure out why it has the wrong interior.

    changing fuel filters

Should the WIF light go out as soon as the filters are changed, or will it take a tank of gas to clear everything out? I filled up last night, then the WIF light came on, changed filters at midnight and im still getting the light today.

    changing fuel filters

When you say frozen, do you mean stuck or do you mean frozen? In texas things very rarely freeze tight, especially not in summer. I going to buy an allen wrench socket set for my 1" drive and see if that will get it un-stuck. Besides making it easier to change the filter, does it matter that...

    changing fuel filters

Had the WIF light come on last night and decided it was time to change the filters. My buddy who owned a 2wd 6.0L said it should be like a 15-20 minute process. Well 35minutes later I will could not get the water seperater drain plug to loosen up. I decided to just change the filter, which...

    wheel sizes

With my F-350 will 17" aftermarket rims fit or do I have to stick with 18's or larger rims. I saw somewhere that the 250's came with 17's and im not sure we have different brake rotors.

    Fuel economy upgrades

Just went through my first full tank. Accoring to my speedo I only went like 500 miles on the tank which comes to about 13-14 MPG. I have a hard time believing that is right though since I did not hot-rod it all. the tank was almost all highway miles, never over 75, and only had high...

    6 inch fabtech

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but if I have the 6" fabtech and a ranchhand bumper replacement (like in my avator) should I be able to run 37's if I get aftermarket wheels?

    lift blocks on F-350

After closer inspection I noticed that the rear portion of my lift is from lift blocks. I am just wondering how safe this is given the F-350 has a larger than normal block already? I do not hot rod the truck at all and I am not really going to tow anything.

    Fuel economy upgrades

thanks for the advice. The previous owner of the truck had a magnaflow exhaust added, but im not sure how good it is or if he even went up in size. I know he replaced the muffler and tip, but thats all I know for sure. Are air intakes and intake manifold mods good for fuel mileage, while...

    Fuel economy upgrades

I completely agree. I can say that I am a good driver, atleast in the fact that I dont hot rod my vehicles. I would love to get into the ford and see what it can do, but I can not afford to break something and not have a vehicle for work.

    Fuel economy upgrades

Is there a particular brand(s) that works best for the ford 6.0L. Since this is my first diesel I am only familiar with the main stream aftermarket companies like Bank's and bullydog.

    Fuel economy upgrades

I am not really concerned with my fuel mileage, but like any vehicle owner I would like to get the best mileage possilble. What are the best modifications for fuel economy, and I could care less about the amount of hp or torque it adds. with gassers I know intake and exhaust are usually the...

    the new beast

so can anyone tell me if there is a way to change my user id, or do I have to make a new profile? Obviously the name does not really fit with my new purchase!

    the new beast

The only thing that sucks is that my wife made me promise I would not do anymore modifications to it(except for company logo) for atleast a year. I like to add stuff to my vehicles all the time so that is going to be tough.

    the new beast

Got the truck yesterday at a local dealer. First vehicle I ever bought with mods on it already, and its kinda nice knowing I will not have to go drop another 2-4K for lift, tires, exhaust, etc. Within the next month or so I am going to be putting my company decals across the doors for...

6.0L - issues, solution, and cost

They are both 4x4, 4 door, automatics, with cloth interior and all power inside. the dodge has 30K more miles, but like you stated it 2 years older. The guy selling the dodge is a customer of mine and only wants what he owes on it, which is $16K, and the ford is at a dealer and will cost me...

6.0L - issues, solution, and cost

Thanks for all the help guys. I have narrowed my search down to 2 trucks, an 03 dodge 2500 4x4, and an 05 f350 4x4. I am leaning toward the dodge at the moment, mainly because I can get it for $10K less than the ford. But the dodge owner is being a dumb ass, so I may get the ford instead.

6.0L - issues, solution, and cost

one of the trucks I am seriously looking at is an 05 with 48K miles. Can I just call a ford dealership or will I have to go there. If this truck has had some of the issues, shouldnt they be fixed since the truck would have been serviced for the problems if it shows up on the oasis report?
