    Moving parts make for a bad ground. Grease and dirt will act as insulation.

    The only electrical part on the diff is a VSS. It has its own wiring. Nothing else need electricity, so a ground is not required.

    The tranny needs to be rebuilt. Most likely a failed mechanical diode. This was Fords attempt to upgrade the sprag. It failed. This part is an 01 only part.

    You can run synthetic on any engine that is broken in. Milage is not an issue. Rottella 5-40 fixed that issue for me many years ago.;tu

    Internal leaks or damaged converter. The converter is drifting (locking up) in reverse.

    Instal a temp gauge using the test port. Test port is on the drivers side of the transmission above the pan rail. By installing a temp guage you can tell if it is the tranny or the programmer. ;tu

    Might be the converter not locking up. When the tranny is below operating temp the converter will not lock up. You scan for codes shift errors will show up. ;tu

    You can use any Mercon or Mercon V rated fluid. Mercon V replaced Mercon a few years ago. ;tu Molbil 1 and Valvoline Max life or both good fluids to use.:D
