    Maybe TRS Transmission Range Sensor. That is on the left side of the tranny. It controls the electronic functions of the tranny. Bogging in reverse is caused by low fluid, low fluid pressure, or internal seals leaking. Another thing to check is the filter. If it has cracked or is damaged...

    The problem is in the direct clutch.Most likely the seal is bad. To correct it you need to dig into the tranny :eek:. Time to rebuild it.;tu

    7.3L Wont start in Park

    The Transmission Range Sensor (neutral safety switch) has gone bad. Drivers side of the tranny. Plastic box with two bolts and a plug sticking out of it.

    Help Needed Tranny Over Heated

    Lugging the engine with the converter locked will send the tranny temp through the roof. A bigger cooler if you don't have one. Let the converter unlock at slow speeds.

    X 2 ;tu 8 seconds is way to long. This problem and the overheating in reverse could be related.

    Finally cleaned the scuz off the engine today. Changed the coolant filter. and parked it.:D

    Rebuild my 4R100 or switch to a 6spd?

    The 5 speed auto would be the 5R110. Its not compatible with the 7.3. The tranny bolt spacing is set up for the 6.oh. Build up the 4R100. If its done right it will not break.;tu Plus it will be cheaper than adapting another tranny to your vehicle.:)
