Help Needed How to use the block heater

I finally looked for the WTS light. Lately I've been using the remote start in the mornings. But it doesn't stay on long.

Help Needed How to use the block heater

We've been getting down to the mid 40's. Maybe a little colder in the dead of night. Does the indicator for waiting for the glow plugs come on for you at those temps?

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Randy, the next time you have the boots off spray the inside with hair spray before sliding everything together. It should keep them from popping off again.

Help Needed How to use the block heater

What would be considered cold enough to need this? I doubt I'll need one in CA. More of a curiosity question.

I think that's any car. At least I know it is for me. I've never left a car alone.

    2017 Ford F250

That was a little uncalled for. As mentioned, Ford can see if you've tuned the computer. Which can screw up your warranty. And since you're leasing it I imagine they want the warranty intact.

    Engine Programmers

Any reason why the increase in regens? I can't imagine that helps with the mileage.

    New Ford

My guess would be the sensor as well. I usually keep an eye on mine and when it says under 50% I can put it at least 2 gallons.

    Engine Programmers

I would guess it also depends on what you consider good mileage. I've seen 20mpg on long trips. And since passing the 15k mile mark I routinely see 14mpg around town. My last was my worst at 12mpg because it tried to regen 3 times. And I tend to drive my truck how I drive my Cobra. Showed a...

    Question tunes

What tuner is it? Most tuners save the old tune in the stock location. You should be able to return to stock and get your old tune back. That being said your truck should start with the new tune. If it's looking for the DPF it would just throw codes.

    Sync Radio

Mine never has an issue with the bluetooth. The radio itself will randomly turn off. It's like driving under a bridge while listening to Sirius. Only the music doesn't come back.

Question No Acceleration or Instrument Cluster

My first two thoughts are grounds and battery condition. I'd check all the grounds. Body and frame. If those are good I'd have the battery and charging system checked out.

    Question Live Load download

Honestly, you're better off getting a newer device. The Xcal2 is no longer supported by SCT. They won't unlock them. And that's the only way you'd be able to do it since it's still locked to your old vehicle. I tune mine and my buddies Cobras. I used the Xcal2 for years. But I ended up having...

    Sync Radio

Has anyone else had an issue with the radio randomly turning off when driving? I have the Sync system with the touch screen. Naturally when I mention it at the dealership they have no idea what I'm talking about and it never acts up when it's there for work. I've started using my GoPro while...

Brake sizing F250 and F350 SRW

I found this. It looks like the brakes are the same size again. http://www.ford.com/trucks/superduty/specifications/chassis/ I kind of want a 2017, but just can't give up my 2015.

    New Ford

    1. You have to have it in tow mode or manual. There's a button on the dash that activates the brake. Should be right around your knee. 2. I let mine warm up a bit. But I rarely see 35. 40's is cold for us. I use the remote start in those morningso. 3. I know exactly what you're talking about...

Brake sizing F250 and F350 SRW

What years are you looking at? According to this the 2015's are the same across the board. I would think 2016 is the same. I didn't look up 2017's. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2015/15_SD_Pickups_SB_Updates.pdf And from what I've researched the only difference between the F250...

    Engine Programmers

Technically the tuner can void your power train warranty. The way to look at it is as soon as you change it from the factory it's no longer in the factory parameters and tolerances. Now if you use a tuner and the rear end breaks chances are they're not going to say anything. But if the turbo...

    New Ford

I haven't had issues like that. I am dealing with a radio issue. It started with the words randomly disappearing. Now it'll turn itself off when it feels like it. Sometimes it's turn back on, other times it won't. Naturally it didn't act up when it was at the dealer. And they've never heard of...

    Thinking about wheel spacers

I think it's a wash about the stress on the wheel bearings. A larger/heavier wheel is going to stress the bearings as well. And usually when we go bigger we go wider which moves the tire out relative to the spindle. I'm not trying to seem like a jerk or anything. Just giving a different...

    Thinking about wheel spacers

Is that just for the bigger tires? I've used spacers in the past and didn't have any issues. But that was on cars and not trucks. They don't change the geometry of anything. All they do is move the rim outboard a bit.The spindle angle isn't changed at all. What I will say is if they used the...
