    Batteries

Another option is finances are tight...... do you have an Interstate Battery shop or distributor in your area? When I needed batteries, I went to the Interstate Battery Store and picked up a set of "blems" for less than $75 for the pair. They are just plain black batteries with no markings or...

    Fuel Filter replacement..

There is a water drain on the side of the HFCM on the passenger side of the unit, toward the front. It takes a 6mm allen (hex) wrench to remove the plug. What I do is remove the plug to start to drain the HFCM, then I loosen the lid on the secondary fuel filter. This allows the HFCM and the...

    2010 rims

Dave, the bolt pattern changed in 99. 97 and older trucks have 8X6.5in and the 99+ SuperDutys are 8x170mm. So they may bolt on. The problem may be the offset of the rim. The older trucks run a deeper offset, and I think the 05+ run a very shallow offset (that is why the outside of the rim is...

    Strange New problem

I have no tune in the truck at all. The strange thing is, for the last 3 or 4 months before the delete the EGR Valve was unplugged from the harness. I had not trouble at all with it this way. Something is strange now that the EGR Cooler has been removed and the EGR Valve plugged back in. I...

    Strange New problem

I have a new odd issue with with my truck. I had an EGR Delete installed on my truck. This delete kit removed the EGR Cooler, replaced the passenger up-pipe and left the EGR in place and connected to the harness. Before the delete the truck was running fine. Now I have a strange surging and...

    fuel filter removal question

bears, First, I loosen the secondary filter lid on the engine. Then, I remove the water drain from the lower front of the HFCM. This will be a 6mm hex. About the only allen wrench that will fit is the classic L shaped allen wrench, use the short side and try to stay out of the fuel...

No I can vouch for Lee. He is the behind the scenes admin for Oilburners and SDD. Those of us who bounce between the two know who he is. He has been working on issues next door for several weeks, since the upgrade over there. He is legit..... BTW - I am a moderator next door, so we know who...

    Question Po603

If you FICM voltage is dropping during startup, that needs to be repaired first. It can cause all kinds of problems. Mine completely quit (12V out) and I used ficmfixer.com to get mine repaired. Just over $100 and a week and the truck was back in service again.

High Idle Mod Question This question is for an Excursion I went out to do the High Idle Mod which uses the Ford provided PTO Control for the PCM to raise the idle to 1200 RPM. I went looking for the wire, #322 from the above procedure. Looking at the 2003 Body Builder Layout book, page...

Do you hear the injector "buzz" when you turn the ignition to the run position during the WTS cycle. If not, your FICM may have failed. Take a look at this: http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/6-0l-powerstroke-engine-drivetrain/28990-ficm-repair.html I just got mine back yesterday. It...

    Alternator replacement (6.0 Diesel)

Here is one think that can happen because of low voltage.... see my thread about the FICM Repair that is currently in-progress for my truck. This unit takes the 12VDC and "amplifies" it to 48VDC..... mine does not do that anymore.....
