    gears???

Well, by using the ratio formula you com up with 4:48-ish. You have to look at the closest available ratio. Your closest on the high side is the 4:56. Im pretty sure they dont make a 4:45 ring and pinion.

    08 side intakes

'Platinum You know that on the '08's the fender vent is recessed into the fender, right? Bama and I discussed this a while back that you would need to cut your fender open or shave off all of the plastic ribbs and cleats off the back of the vent and 3-M tape it to the fender. I'm all for...

    gears???

I've been playing with this plan also. A buddy of mine works for a drivline service shop so he can get the parts cheap and he and I would do the install after hours. But, my problem is I dont want to take the gearing to 4.56 because I get the best MPG when I stay away from the 2000 RPM range...

    4X4 Launch

Wait.....the shift that takes place immediatly after I make the switch to 2wd is when ,I assumed, the front axle disengaged. The steering feel loosens up and the pitch or sound of the drivetrain changes. I figured that the defueling that takes place at the shift points (I run the 'Edge) was...

    Well, were do i begin.............................

I had thought about buying a factory set and shipping them to the shop that just did the 'cryo treatment on my rotors. I mean, were talking about the threads/bolts stretching so if they were 3x as hard like the ARP's claim to be we could all get out of this mess for a FRACTION of the alternative...

    ladder bars???

It wont soften it up. It makes it ride differently. The thumbs I put in the last reply are of our 2500 HD shop truck. We pulled a leaf to see if it would offer a more 'comfy ride. It made the truck feel sloppy and looked like a dog dragging its butt across the livingroom floor. We then added the...

    Exhaust modification?

I think better would describe the tone. First start in the morning I get the "BRAAAAAAPPPP-BROPL-BROPL-BROPL" (yes thats the technical term):roflmao . I love it. But at 5:30 in the morning some of my non-diesel nieghbors may not care for it. Once it warms up it mellows out....until you stand on...

    Got my new brakes on...WOW!

With the wheels being chrome plated aluminum & lug-centric, I set them to 130 lbs and will re-torque tonight(will have 100 miles on them when I get home).

    Got my new brakes on...WOW!

I know, I had the same concerns but the manufacturer has a solid replacement warranty and the guys at 'Cryo said they have yet to get a report of one of their treated rotors warping or cracking. We'll see.-popcorn

    ladder bars???

I think I see where your headed with this. By removing the leaves you will soften up the ride charcteristic of the spring but also reduce payload capacity and lift height. With the bags in place you would have to inflate them enough to compensate for the missing springs and that would stiffen...

    Got my new brakes on...WOW!

I just finished the install of Cross drilled & Slotted rotors on the family truckster. HOLY G's, were stopping RIGHT NOW! The Hawk LTS pads in conjunction with the rotors at all four corners gives the pedal such a posative feel that it's just awesome. I'm a big fan of going fast, but stopping on...

    ladder bars???

With those big lift blocks in the rear, combined with the resistance created by the larger wheel/tire combo you have a ton of leaverage trying to twist your leaf springs in to an "S" and rotating your pinion. Air bags will make a HUGE difference in how your trucks chassis handles with the added...

If your looking to replace your trans., then by all means throw all the boost you can down stream and watch the show. I have found that with my 'Edge I can afford to be a little slower off the line because I WILL run them down and go bye bye. So, 1- do a big hairy 2wd burn out in...

    wheel hop...

The only way to STOP wheel hop is to lock the axle in place,(i.e. Ladder bar, Traction bar) The shocks that mount horizontally, on top of the spring pack, do not stop wheel hop they just cushion the movement when it happens. A good set up is not cheap, but holy cow is the difference noticable...

    After market wheels problems

Lug-centric here. Is the tire shop not going to cover the cost of the damage to your rig? You bought the wheels from them/they knew what vehicle they were going on and they did the install? Hmmmmm somethins up.:censored:

    Problems with my truck

I JUST put drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk LTS pads on mine this week. HUGE difference in pedal feel and braking action. You can look through your rims at the rotors and see if there are any chatter marks, or anything else wierd, on them.
