    Removing vlave cover with pics?

    When I pulled mine off the 97, it was pretty much just take the intake and filter off, then take the bolts out that hold the covers on. With the cooler pipes on the newer 7.3's, I would think after you take them off it should be the same. Pretty straight foward, nothing to really screw up...

    Edge is BAD!!! They do not tune the trans for the extra power. SCT with custom tunes is the way to go. A custom tuner will write tunes for your truck and the mods that you have on it. If you have studs they will write it hotter than if you have stock bolts. I have Gearhead tunes on my 06...

    If you do go with a SCT or other tuner, if you can keep your foot out of it, you should see better mileage. Custom tunes are the way to go. I have Matt's tunes and love them.

    The switch/knob has 12 positions. The TS style chip can only support 6 positions. It is a storage issue.

    Yes, when I installed the knob, the stop ring came off. I was off by 180* when I put it back on and none of the tunes worked.

    When you installed the switch, did you put it back on the same way? The switches have like 12 positions on them. If you put it back on wrong, 180* off, (don't ask) if will run stock.

    Rev-x has been said to work miracles on the 6.0 injectors. Said to be completly different than hot shots. Just what I have read, I have no experience with either.

    There is no tuning for the trans for the added power. Really hard on the trans. The custom tunes will adjust pressures and shift points to compensate for the added power.

    Check the oil pan for rust, if it rusts through you have to pull the engine to change it. Ask for a carfax, since the oasis reports only go back 10 years. And if serious about buying it, take it to a diesel mechanic if you are still unsure about anything. Good luck. BTW, I just sold my 97...

    Look on ebay. That is where I found mine. The 4" 90* with tip was the perfect length exiting the truck. 90 Degree Aluminumized Exhaust Pipe Elbow 4" Dia. OD/ID: eBay Motors (item 270655175054 end time Nov-25-10 19:07:52 PST) Just an example.
