    Underbody Rust

This stuff works. It's a tiny bit pricey, but once it's on, it ain't gonna come off. I use it on my semi.

Help Needed Looking for underhood stickers/decals.

I don't know where to get original stickers. But, if I were in your shoes, I'd take a digital picture of some good, clean under-hood stickers, scan them into my 'puter, touch 'em up with Photoshop (or something less capable), print them off to glossy photo paper, laminate them, and stick 'em...

    Maiden Maintenance Voyage on 6.0

Ford (and lots of other knowledgable people) recommends their premium gold coolant. If it were me, I wouldn't stray from what Ford recommends. I think it just opens up the door for someone to say (in this case) "You used the wrong coolant".

    Transmission Filtration from DieselSite

That tranny should take in the neighborhood of 15-17 quarts. Make SURE it's the right type of fluid. I flushed mine a few weeks ago and the granny that was at the parts counter of my dealership sold me the wrong fluid. I'll take my share of the blame, cuz i didn't check the type in the owners...

I don't know what a tranny rebuild costs, but you might consider what these guys could do for you. Read this. Good info.

    Bad Injecter

#1 cylinder? Or "just one cylinder"? If it's really #1, that seems a bit odd. Bigger injectors will get you more power, and a bigger fuel bill also. More power in a 6.0, without doing a few other upgrades, may NOT be the way you want to go. I'm talking about ARP head studs, Black Onyx head...

    Transmission Filtration from DieselSite

What they're talking about is this: When you start the engine, that starts the tranny pumping fluid towards the front of the truck so that the fluid can be filtered by the canister filter, then into the radiator to dissipate some of the heat, then out of the radiator and back to the tranny. In...

    Transmission Filtration from DieselSite

Your trucks tranny already has filtration.... a "filter" inside the pan, and a second one mounted up front on the passenger side just behind the radiator. The one up front is about the size of the cardboard tube left over from a roll of toilet paper. When you buy the new filter, it looks like...

    f350 wont start

That sounds like the cost of a new crate motor. Does it really need a whole new motor?

so according to ford it is normal for this engine to make its own oil?

First of all, Ford doesn't make or enforce the laws, so I don't see how Ford saying it's a commercial vehicle, automatically makes it so. I also don't see how just the fact that it's an F350 makes it a commercial vehicle. I would think that determination would depend on a few things: how it's...

    Any ideas.

How about an update? Since you had the head(s) off anyway, did you put it back together with ART studs and Black Onyx head gaskets?

    Question Powerstrokehelp.com

I've watched several of their videos, and I'm convinced. I've also talked to them on the phone concerning a problem I was having, and they were very helpful. I understand other posters advocating this forum as having "much better info, for free". Well, "free"? Absolutely. Who's gonna stand...

    suspension question about a 05 f250

I bet the dealer could tell you those specs. If the rear is sagging, how much is it sagging? Where is that pro comp 2" leveling kit installed? Are the shackles long enough? Are the shocks the proper length for that truck? Are the springs the correct springs for that truck? Maybe its not that...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

Here's a picture of my previous truck (04 F350 CC 4x4 SRW) pulling a 35' Jayco Eagle 322FKS. We're at Lost Bridge North campground on Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas on 22 November 2008. Another shot of the same rig at Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Pennsylvania about June of 2009. Same 2004 PSD...

    Sun roof no worky...

I needed to replace the gasket around the sunroof a little while back. Old original had become so loose that the glass would rattle around at high speed due to the airflow over the roof. Removed the glass, stripped off the old gasket, and had one b**ch of a time getting the new one on...

    Mud Flaps for 2011 Dually

What do I tow? We got this truck a little over a year ago in anticipation of moving to a 5'er. We were pulling a 35 ft travel trailer on the bumper. It did an amazing job of managing that beast. Previous truck in this image. We now have a 40 ft toy hauler 5'er, and it does a great job with...

    Question Oil Filter Question

I agree on the exclusive use of Motorcraft filters.... oil, fuel, and air. You can't go wrong using what was designed to be used in your engine. Besides, if there ever is a problem, that's just one more area that can be used against you: "See? You used an aftermarket filter. That's what...

    Do you clean your engine?

I use a 50/50 mix of Super Clean/water. Super Clean is available at WM, and works great. I think it works better than Simple Green, which has a funky smell to me. Anyway, I use a spray bottle set on "stream" to hit all the hard to reach areas, than a quick once-over the rest of the engine...

Ford's "flaps" work good for me. The thing I like about them is that they fit right out of the box.

    bed weight and traction

I have a need to cover areas on my property where grass will not grow due to too much shade. Problem is, I like to walk around the exterior of my own house (imagine that) picking up fallen limbs, etc. to keep the place looking nice. I also have one of those "mostly outside" kind of jobs, and I...

    Odd smell

Here's a thought: With the introduction of Diesel Particulate Filters on Class 8 tractors, and now on new pickups, one of the things the trucking industry picked up on was the need to CLEAN the DPF per the mfg. specs. If the DPF is not cleaned, it will eventually clog and cause the Engine...
