    nearly stranded

    well this kinda sounds like a past experience i had. i was real low on fuel, and truck barely started, so i filled it and it was fine, ive done this twice, so i think you keep the thing full of fuel and dont run it empty youll be fine. im never running it low again..

    thanks guys for the help.. i put new motorcraft batteries in december. im gonna have a local shop rebuild mine, mainly cuz i like to give them work, and i can get it done today.

    i have a good shop in town that rebuilds... was thinking about going that route.. but seen this thread.. i run a big stereo, and might need the extra ummfff . main reason i started thinking about this , is the battery light flickered on and off other day at idle... but once i drove it went away...

    well im planning on doing some undering coating on my truck mainly frame axles. thought about just doing some sanding and black rattle can paint. any thing that will hold up better? im thinking cheap minded. im not gonna do the eastwood 3 part paint process.. i dont mind repainting every spring...

    well, it was right at 16 mpg alot of highway and some in town. thats not too bad since its winter. truck idles more, fuel sucks, i have 5inch lift and 35inch mud tires. so im prob doing ok. truck is running great. i think this helped improve responsiveness, and maybe some power. but awesome mod...

    instructions are ok. but you need to know what your looking at theirs like 2 or 3 black and white pictures that kinda confuse you more then help. not sure if the manifold changed in 05 or what but it looked different in their pictures. i would loosen both drivers side and passenger side up pipes...

    i have 97,000 i did the work myself. i didnt take it all the way off, it was dirty but not real bad. with all the wire harnesses hooked to it, i didnt want to screw up any of that trying to get it out.

    They're gonna remove my cab!

    i know on the 6.0 you can get to the up pipes easy, but the 6.4 takes up alot more room i think
