    You could also look at an 8 speed, or one of the other commercially available trannys that bolt up to the VT365, it would give you a lot of other options and I'm certain much heavier clutches and overall torque ratings. Might be a bit heavier, but who's really counting pounds these days?

    I'd leave it in there and see what the test yields, if it comes up blank for results then take it out and look at it. Don't disturb anything that might give more odd results. Check, then start pulling things out.

    Go for the easy ones... check your hose connections on the back side of the spindle and where it connects at the frame. Go for the simple and obvious stuff first.

    How cold is too cold?

    -5 is cold, but not cold enough it should kill the batteries in a couple of days, something else is at play here... my truck is outside, and I've had it sit from friday afternoon till monday morning on a couple of cold weekends, and it fired up with some clatter... made noise but never hesitated.

    I'd leave it alone for now... you might be the .1% that has one that likes to work. It will most likely loosen up with a little wear on it. Put some weight in the bed and it will probably be fixed in a mile or two...
