    2-3 shift lazy

I would suspect either it's a dirt issue, or fluid flow. Think about it, you're now applying two servos, if either or both are out of spec, or close to it for leakdown, the combined loss might account for why it takes longer. Either one by themselves has enough pressure to overcome whatever...

Diesel down!!!! Well not really! Got a code

The same question still stands though... what did you pull the codes with? I don't recall seeing that.

    Fuel Leak Under Bed

might be leaking from the HFCM, bad o-ring most likely... Depends how much fuel is sprayed around, start it up, and crawl underneath with some safety glasses and see what you can find.

Fan Clutch info <for those that asked>

Man this sounds like a D'oh from Ford... sheesh... Thankfully it seems as though the fan gives up once it eats it's own connection. Can you imagine that thing getting a hold of a few other wires under there and putting them through the belts? Oooo....

Nothing like a good 3 way... lol...

    AFE intake

No... CCV isn't going to help that, that is only on the intake side. Unfortunately the trouble is on the exhaust side. Just keeping it moving is the best bet. These engines were designed to run, and run hard under load. Most of what we do with them isn't good for them.

Rotten egg smell in cab when towing heavy load

I don't think you're going to get hydrogen sulfide from a diesel's catalytic converter, I really don't think there's enough sulphur in the fuel anymore. Gassers, oh yeah, they stink... I will triple the check batteries comment. Might also want to check your system voltage, if you're very high...

    AFE intake

What he means is the controls that operate the vanes in the turbo... The unison ring along with the vanes sometimes have a tendency to stick, and it causes some weird results. This could be anything from low boost, over boost, inconsistent boost, and just plain lousy performance. The fix is...

Well, then if that's the case since it seems to be holding in, just that the engine can't keep up, change those fuel filters!

    PS?????

No... I think you're stuck with that one, unless you have an extended warranty...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, and I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I can't see fuel filters giving it shifting problems. I wouldn't really thing that 210 would kill the fluid or the trans that quickly, but, you're certainly due for a fluid change in the tranny as well, and the tranny...

    Limp Mode?

Sorry to hear ya have a big bill to swallow, but it sounds like you're going to have a fantastic setup when you're done. Torque converter lock is a tough concept to get your mind around, but that was a very good explanation. Once you reach the stall speed, the device has minimal slip, 1% or...

    2004 engine fan problem

It is an electro-viscus clutch, so it has a variable lockup rate. Are you sure you're not low on coolant or have a temp sensor going out? It gets its command right from the PCM... Unless it's physically coming apart, and in that sense, I'd expect you'd be able to rattle it around (with the...

    Braking and fuel mileage

I was waiting for the Jake to come out... I can't see how tranny braking is going to use more fuel. When the engine is in an overhauling condition, the injectors are off completely, not that faint little click they make when you just take your foot off the pedal..

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

In theory yes, it's not that synthetic is so much more "slick" it just doesn't break down until much higher temperatures. But that said, I still wouldn't put that additive garbage in there. Unless it chatters when you put the new fluid in, and it bugs you, I'd leave it out, and I plan to do...

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

Now I'm gonna have to check, because I thought I saw mobil 1 75/140... Problem with the polycarbonate cover is it will transfer about 1/10 of what the steel cover would. You're really gonna cook the oil then. Plastic generally as a rule is a horrible conductor of heat. That's why it's such a...

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

No offense, but I'd just wait till the interval was up and change the oil, God knows what you might pick up with used oil... Cheap insurance. As far as oil goes, walmart has it too I do believe.

    Brakes locked up...

Thanks! I hope not too, but never can tell with the "new and improved" items on the market today. I'll add this to my list of things to make note of.

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

You loose that much heat through the valve covers?? I'd have figured it would have been more for weight.

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

Polished only looks good, it's not going to improve performance of the heat transfer. Unless you're going metal to metal, and even then you'd use thermal grease, it ain't gonna make a difference. More surface area, higher capacity, and aluminum vs steel are the only things that are going to...

    Brakes locked up...

True, but at 40K there shouldn't be an ounce of wear on those pistons... if there is, it's going through the dealership window. I'm sorry, that's BS. Salt, pee, moisture... yeah, it's a wonderful life...

    Brakes locked up...

Yeah, At the very least I plan on repacking the hub. I've never changed the brakes on this yet, they have all kinds of life left... well they did anyway... I'm just astounded this happened with only 40k on the clock. I'm quite pissed actually. That's why I'm leaning to a fur ball problem. I'll...

    Brakes locked up...

I had an interesting experience Saturday afternoon... I was driving along, and I noticed the truck pulling to the right. Didn't think much of it. Wasn't dogging it at all, ran fine. Then I start hearing something that sounded like a wheel bearing, but on the left side of the vehicle, slowed down...

    My Engine stalls at startup

that's interesting because if I push on my pedal and crank it, it won't start at all. I would suspect you have a couple of code running around in there.

    PS Fluid has metal fines

Yeah, the box ain't cheap, and I'm sure the assist module for the brakes is pretty pricey too...
