    If that be the case, as long as they're the same size carriers, yeah you should be fine. The brakes changed, but that doens't effect anything on the inside. You will have to swap gear sets though, your 04 pinion will not play well with the 07 ring gear... you'll have more noise than you know...

    Not to be sarcastic, even though it's one of my better talents... I think you're safe on this one... what you've experienced is certainly aby-normal Although it's probably an easy fix in the tranny.

    I'm surprised that 225 is considered hot for engine oil... that's only a few degrees hotter than boiling. It's only what, 30-35 degrees hotter than the coolant temp? I'd expect 325 to be hot... or 300 maybe. You are talking about the engine, and not the tranny, right?

    factory boost gauge or a real one? For the increase in whistle, I'm thinking you're headed into an overboost condition, and it's somehow making it past the EGR valve... then the two systems try to fight each other...
