    Just purchased a 2008 F-450 and plan on taking advantage of the upfitter switches. Question: I have the wiring information for the 2006 upfitter switches. Is it fair to assume it's a carryover for the 2008 model, or are new colors used ?

    Steam out of the tail pipe.

    Same issue here. Steam from the exhaust, whistle from the reservoir. New head gaskets and she's as good as new.

    Back on the road ! New head gaskets, new intake gaskets, latest PCM update, oil change, and coolant flush. :sweet. Could be perception, but the throttle response has improved with the new PCM update.

    New one at 30,000 miles. Internal voltage regulator. Batteries were fine however. Good luck.

    After a thorough cleanup of the underside of the hood (no blanket to deal with on the 2006), and a top-up of the coolant, I've monitored over the past several hundred miles. Occassionally hear the whistle when I jump above 20psi boost, but no evidence of leaking on the undersideof the hood...

    That looks rough comparitively. I've cleaned up the crusty crud, topped-up the fluid and will continue to monitor over the next short while. A gallon today took it straight to the MIN level; but lord knows how long it's been. I noticed the "tee pot whistle" in just the few past days...

    Thanks Bush, Is it common for the reservoir to go low (empty) without this being a sign of an EGR crack ? It's truly not something I've monitored since ownership.

    Yes - that's the sound. I'm hoping it's the overflow bottle - as the sound is not 100% repeatable all the time. Any quick test to rule-out a cracked EGR cooler; evidence of a leak or other means rather than a return to the dealer ? Thanks

    Nope - that one is distinct. This sounds like an air leak that seals-up after about 2 seconds. Is there something that controls or relieves backpressure that's not sealing ? Perhaps a valve that might not be seating correctly at first ?
