    Aux Input Wiring

Trying to keep it simple-07 SD, factory AM/FM/single CD-want to hook up a "line-in" to the aux input. Before tearing apart the dash (they don't tend to like to go back together in my experience) I thought I'd see what it takes to accomplish this. I'm surprised there's not a thread already...

    Napa fuel filter problem?

This parts bible idea is a REALLY great idea. But along with that, perhaps a list of all the alphabet soup you guys use...that would be just as helpful to guys like me who have to stop and look back every time someone uses a jumble of 3-4 letters that mean nothing to me otherwise. Just a...

    2006 F250 6.0 milage ???

Jeff- I dunno what the flash was. His was an 06, but this was a casual conversation with a fleet sales manager while I was working with him on some cars for work. Wish I could help more. Maybe your truck has the latest flash, and his was an earlier one? He is an older guy, don't know how...

    2006 F250 6.0 milage ???

According to the fleet sales manager of a nearby Ford dealer, he owns a 2006 F250 he bought new. He first got about 15 to 16, but about a year ago they reflashed it, now he gets 18-20 on the highway. The service manager of the same dealership explained to him what happened and advised him to...

    Limited Slip....... NOT

Actually, the worse it ever got was when I towed a LOADED dump trailer up the hill. I KNOW the weight was maxed out on the trailer because the tires could barely turn under the fenders!:thumbs That's why I got the insurance too when I picked up that rental equipment!:sly That time I...

    05 intercooler hoses blowing off??

A contractor I had do some work for me has an F450 that was doing the same thing. Apparently, once the hoses blow off, you have to replace the clamps too. He said the dealer said...that the whole assembly expands and contracts so the clamps have to be flexible...apparently they get too...

Truck surges and smokes at different speeds.

I don't have a clue:dunno . But now the thread is back on top so maybe someone will see it. I'm surprised cause the guru's are usually quick to make a suggestion!

    Limited Slip....... NOT

Now that I read this thread, I may have the opposite problem. I live 4.5 miles off the highway on a steep, twisting, chip seal road. I notice going up the hill, as I turn the corners, that the rear tire on the inside of the curve is spinning on the dry pavement. Is the limited slip too tight...

    2006-2007 PSD

Well...how'd it go with the King Ranch? I don't have many miles, but I've had no problems. The worst thing on my 07 is the cruise control sometimes won't hold a steady speed under load, but other times works great. My mileage is picking up too. I went to Santa Cruz and back for Thanksgiving...

06 f350SD PSD RUST IN FUEL SYSTEM??

If your auxillary tank is a Transfer Flow brand fuel tank, they are manufactured here in my home town. I have met one of the owners through mutual acquaintances and he's a good guy. My guess is that if you contact them (info here [URL="http://www.transferflow.com/contact_us.html"] ) they may...

    Bike rack prob help needed

I would take a good look at the frame on the trailer before you start thinking about that. My frame is decent, but I don't know about tying directly into it, I bet it would damage it. I originally tried the 2" receiver bolted to the sewer hose storage bin called a bumper, loaded everything...

5th wheel and goose neck for X's and lifted trucks

I thought you could just lift the 5er too!:sweet Actually, I think it would be VERY difficult to back a CC PSD towing a 35+' 5er with a 5' trailer in between. Can you say JACK KNIFE!!! Maybe I'm just not as good of a backer-upper as I think...

    Steep, steep mountains.

299 is a fun little road. I once made it from Chico to Eureka in 4 hours flat! Towing the TT with the family is a bit frustrating though...Every time I start to enjoy the power, especially on that stretch just above Whiskeytown, I gotta choose...slow down and roll the wife's window down, or...

    Steep, steep mountains.

I've run 101 down around San Luis Obispo, and from the SF Bay area up into Oregon. If you stay off of Hwy 1, it's all good. 1 is too narrow if you're not an experienced driver very comfortable with your rig, and know exactly where it is at all times! 101 gets a little skinny for an...

    Trailer Insurance????

Depends on the trailer... With State Farm, my 28' travel trailer costs about $145/year for theft/fire etc... My utility trailer is covered under the policy of the vehicle towing it for pl/pd, no extra insurance required. It would quickly cost more to insure than to replace.

    4X4 high

Or if both your front AND rear wheels are BURIED then you know you're in 4X!:roflmao Actually, if you have limited slip rear end especially, click it to 4 high and turn a circle in gravel or loose dirt as tight as you can. You'll know if it's in 4X4 because the tires will slip a bit as you...

    A mystery

A whole different direction here on a whole different vehicle if you've had your A/C serviced recently... I had an 02 Suburban that blew an A/C compressor. Got it fixed and it soon starting making floorboard vibrating grating, rattling, clunking noises. Kept on "intermittently" for the next...

    2008 6.4 150,000mile test

The whole thing about it still having the original brakes...not that impressive to me. In order to drive 150,000 miles in 131 days, I don't think there was a whole lotta stoppin done!:roflmao

Don't just jump out there in traffic!

How many miles you have? What does your tranny fluid look/smell like? Could be that your tranny fluid is gettin ready to retire. I've had problems with Ford A/T's not wanting to shift right or hold in between gears and a fluid filter change has cured the problem two different times, two...

    Extended cranking question

My now has about 5900 miles. Brand new, it took a little longer to start than my 01 7.3 did. It now takes about 3-4 seconds of cranking to start. I know 3 secs seems like a long time, but my 7.3 literally started in about 1 sec, after waiting for the light to shut down. At 4800 miles my...

    Potential Engine repair/replacement avoided!!

Well, the nearest biodiesel to Chico is about 90 miles away, so I can't get it local. We towed the travel trailer to Brookings Oregon last week for the week, so I checked out the above links. It was very informative, and I appreciate the info.:sweet However, DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME...

    6.0 L starting?

My 07 only has 4763 miles on it, and it seems to be taking a little longer to start too. I was thinking it was the difference between the winter and now summer fuel blends. Would the lift pump really be going out on a brand new truck?
