    If it is a PCM function I find it strange that adding 5 gallons would not register and reset it after you shut the truck off and turned it back on.

    That's how I park :D Keeps the door dings to a minimum if you park like that out in the nose bleed section. Funny thing is you can park way out and when you come out of the store you will be surrounded. People are like sheep - followers.

    Glad you got it figured out :sweet I wonder what years the sensor you got from Ford covers? The one from Advance Auto may be for a broader year range and thus send different resistance values. Regardless I don't think I would stray from OEM sensors in the future.

    :welcome1 As far as fuel mileage the biggest thing you could do is reduce tire size. I have 35" rubber and they really eat up the fuel and power.     :welcome1 to the site from Alaska. You may have two problems rather than one. The starting issue sounds like a glow plug or glow plug relay problem but that would not effect the way it runs after it is warmed up. Have you checked the fuel pressure?
