Help Needed sudden loss of power!! wth?!?!

Another possibility is a bad positive battery connection. The FICM relies on a voltage doubler to work. In the case of my wife's grooming van, which had a 6.0 PowerStroke diesel, the positive cable corroded, there was enough of a voltage drop to where the van did exactly what you described, no...

Question At what age are you a old fart

Hope you had a happy birthday, Dogman. Just for the record, I turned 54 in July. According to my children, I am most definitely an old fart. When my son had a history exam (open book at home) he ran the questions by me because he knew I would have the answers, because when I went through...

UAW set to take aim at Ford

I'm sorry, I have little sympathy for the UAW. The people that work at the Kia, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, and Nissan plants in the South reject union membership. They get comparable wages to union members without having to pay dues to support union activities in the political arena that...

    Question 2025 MPG's ?

As an E-3 and E-4 in Turkey, I lived like a sultan. If I had extended my tour there, I would have wound up with a blonde haired, blue eyed Turkish wife. :sly

    comment Diesel ..........$5.77 gal.

Unfortunately, while it is despicable, it's not illegal, unless there's a hurricane in the vicinity. The city of Orlando is trying to come up with some sort of ordinance, but it may not pass legal muster.

Getting Closer (TT first time use)

Because the city fathers in the affected areas will not allow them to enter the city. Tuscaloosa, Alabama's mayor said not just no, but HELL NO.

    comment Diesel ..........$5.77 gal.

Is that the same outfit that charges $5 plus a gallon for gasoline just north of the airport? He makes a killing off of the European tourists just off the plane who don't know that such a price is highway robbery.

    02 Superduty f250 on a f450 frame question

I remember seeing an article a few years back in a diesel truck magazine, Diesel Power I think. The guy who fabricated his truck had the same problem you had. The trick to solving it was some creative body work, filling the four inches between the body and the bed with another section of bed...

    Recall notice 11V352000

It also appears that if you have an older truck, the recall only applies if your truck had the multifunction switch replaced in the last seven months or so. So no recall for me, it seems.

Question Off Road diesel mixed with regular diesel

After Katrina, those of us on the Gulf Coast could only get off-road diesel. The EPA came out with a temporary waiver, I still have that printout in the owner's manual. I got fuel checked at a Florida Agricultural check station once, I think the guy was bored.

    Question Hidden strobe lights questions

So long as the strobes aren't red or blue, you're good to go in Florida. Most construction Super Duty trucks have the hidden strobes around here.

Help Needed Dash went crazy & no power!!

The injector control module will not properly fire the injectors with low voltage. The van the wife and I used to own for our dog grooming business did the same thing. Bad cables were the culprit, replacing the ground cables fixed it.

    Question Help needed... Boiling battery!

Bad battery or bad clamps. I had the same problem with the gauges, along with low voltage when cold, it went away when I replaced the original Motorcraft batteries with new Motorcraft batteries.

    rant Oh yes! OH NO!!!

That sounds like a deal. I drove a Volvo 7 series estate (station wagon in Americanese) while I was stationed in Europe, THAT was considered a big car by most! I needed it with a wife and four kids at the time.

    rant Oh yes! OH NO!!!

I had a VW that was built in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, I needed parts for it when I was stationed in Germany. The Euro VW and the U.S. VW are different, but the dealer got the parts, and it wasn't outrageously priced. There are Ford dealers all over Europe. GM sold Chevys, Buicks, and GMC in...

    Ford and 6.4L Bashing

I know how you feel, I get tired of hearing crap about my "defective" 6.0 engine. It runs fine except for a cold injector stiction problem that is slowly working itself out. I did not believe the sand that came out of my newly installed coolant filter. Other than those two issues, the truck is...

    What would this be for?

What can I say, Robert...the Air Force knows how to live. I remember my technical school was a purple suit affair run by the Army. When it rained, we zoomies could actually use umbrellas, something that was verboten for the grunts and squids. Things have changed in the Air Force, though. The...
