    When others sell, we buy.

Thanks, Stephen. I'm very pleased to hear that the Peterbilt sold and you were able to keep your truck. What would Albertville be without the presence of your chromed beauty of a truck rolling down the streets?;tu

    When others sell, we buy.

Thanks, Robert. So far I've dodged the bullet twice this year. If I have learned anything through two hospitalizations, kidney and heart failure, and one operation that cracked open my chest and gave me a nice zipper, it is that I have to follow "Dirty Harry" Callahan's advice. "A man's got to...

What is needed to service a 6.0 ?

The boycott WOULD start a day before I have to pick up and drive my wife's new 6.0 powered E-350 from Ohio to Florida via New Jersey. I can see it is best to avoid refueling in Pennsylvania at all costs, $4.13 at the Flying J in PA.

    When others sell, we buy.

Well, an interesting turn of events has occurred concerning my wife's business. Her mobile dog grooming business was going nowhere, until we changed the business plan to groom IN the house instead of in a converted van, which we were struggling to get. Financing a new one is darn near...

Any Big Radios to shoot skip?

Never wanted to shoot skip with a CB. I don't even own a CB rig anymore. But I have a radio in the truck that will allow me to talk to Europe and Asia when conditions are right. It's an amateur radio. I have one at the house, too, along with several antennas strung in the trees. Once I get...

    When it rains...

It pours. I've been complaining about what I thought was a pulled muscle for nearly a year. I went to the doctor, she didn't like my lab work at all and had me scheduled for a heart echo test. So I show up, having been though this before, thinking this was going to be a ten minute test and...

    Hello from NW Florida

I retired at Hurlburt Field. I used to work in the 16th SOW head shed, as a public affairs flack. I'd have stayed longer if they let me. The docs at Eglin said no when I went for a re-enlistment physical. They were nice enough to retire me with full bennies instead of telling me not to let...

Waiting for a shipment by UPS?

And all this time, I thought the words "DO NOT HUMP" painted on the sides of rail cars was the railroad industry's contribution to promoting abstinence. :D

    Salute To Brett Favre

Like Marino, Favre is a class act. Too bad there are not more like him in the world of sport. Enjoy retirement down on the bayou, Brett!

    Fog Lights

If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, it was obviously defective and would need to be replaced soon, anyway. If a wrench won't work it loose, use a hammer.

    Hello from NW Florida

Howdy, neighbor! I live north of Crestview by the airport. There's a couple of places, one in Pensacola on Pensacola Blvd by the VA clinic, and a shop in Ft. Walton Beach by Cox Communications on Racetrack Road that might have what you need. The names of both places escape me at the moment. Gold...

    184.078 Gallons equals $655.13

All electric house, on an electric co-op, and last month's electric bill, including heat (yes, it does get cold in the South) was nearly $300. Now that it's warming up and I have to run the pool filter, I don't see it going down any. I know, South, no snow, pool. Poor, poor, pitiful me.:sorry...

    Warning ticket

This thread reminds me of an old Air Force joke: A giant C-5 Galaxy cargo jet and a small T-38 trainer were approaching each other from different taxiways. The new student in the T-38 was unsure of who was to go first at the intersection, so he called the tower: "Tower, this is the T-38 on...

Going from factory 6CD to6CD, harness question... sirius

The adapter you have is the latest and greatest version of the one that is in my truck. It looks like they have added iPod control. Make sure that power is getting to the P.I.E. adapter. If the adapter isn't powered up, the radio will display NO AUX. Sometimes I get that indication for a second...

    For the first time EVER

Robert's a Navy man. He's simply confused the fuel consumption of the Tow Boss with the fuel consumption of the last naval vessel he served on.:D

    For the first time EVER

I finally spent an entire Benjamin to fill The Beast. $100 for 28 gallons of Hugo Chavez's finest ULSD. That means since I bought the truck to now, I now have to pay an extra $40 every fill up. And it may go to $50 more soon. There are two outfits that are starting up biodiesel production...

    E4OD weaknesses

Towing at 75 mph? You are braver and richer than I am. I found the sweet spot towing with my Explorer to be around 60 mph. After that, the truck got squirrely and had the fuel consumption of the Queen Mary. I ran the stock cooler and the aftermarket cooler in series.

Going from factory 6CD to6CD, harness question... sirius

Look in the WIKI. My article on installing the PIE adapter to the CD-6 should be in there. If not, I will send it again. You don't need the Sirius option on the radio itself. The PIE adapter uses the DVD input. If you have a DVD installed from the factory, the PIE adapter will not work. It's a...

    E4OD weaknesses

Heat will kill an E4OD quickly. Towing with the overdrive on will shorten the life of an E4OD. Keeping the fluid clean through frequent changes helps. Watching the rear main seal for leaks and fixing problems immediately without the use of mouse milk additives helps. I went through three of...

If this is going to fly, I'm out of here.

John, I'm lucky enough to have bought my truck from an honest dealer. He sells Super Duty diesels by the car carrier load. But in the service department, only ONE qualified diesel tech. He's a great guy, but overworked and probably underpaid. If I want something as simple as an oil change, I...

Grand Baby is on the way!!!

Delivery pain, PUHHHHHHH! Ever pass a kidney stone? Wifoid passed one and said childbirth has nothing on the pain you have passing a kidney stone. That being said I have personally passed FOUR of those boogers. Congrats on the new addition, TG. When he reaches manhood and contemplates a...

    Fuel prices?

That is EXACTLY what the Chinese, with the help of the Cubans, are doing to the United States right off the coast of the Florida Keys. Yet our government is so afraid of the tree huggers we won't do the same thing. Better we send our national treasury to our enemies. If we get the...
