What is this stuff in my coolant?

It's probably been mentioned, but stock up on coolant filters when you order the kit. I went through three in the first nine months and once a year after that so if you're paying shipping anyway, it's always good to have a spare (or four) on hand.

What is this stuff in my coolant?

I have a 7.3 so it's not completely the same but I spent right around an hour installing mine and I wasn't working all that fast.

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

It was kind of amusing--when I used the Castrol-branded engine cleaner/degreaser, it dissolved all the lettering off of the stickers so now they're just blank white vs. having things printed on them. ;)

    Sad day

You've got my condolences Mike--until we got Mr. Teddy I had no idea how attached you could get to a dog but after being together that long, I cannot fathom your loss. :( :( :( :( :( :(

    FASS Upgrades

Just for shytes and grins since I'm not seriously in the market for upgrading that part of my PSD just yet, would you recommend the 95 gph or 150 gph unit for a mildly modded 7.3? I've got PMR's so I can't forsee really pushing the HP envelope, but when I price a high-po prepump kit (I've got a...

What is this stuff in my coolant?

It's probably casting sand that you can eliminate with a coolant filter kit from Dieselsite. The link is in my sig but since I have a 7.3, you'll have to poke around the site for their 6.0 kit.

    Jet-powered beer cooler

I was looking around re: ideas for my Physics project this semester (also considering building a Tesla coil or solar telescope) and found this: http://www.asciimation.co.nz/beer/ I can't think of a more noble cause for any machine than properly chilling beer. :D :drink :drink :drink

    Dropping The Oil Pan

Do you have the engine out of your truck? I don't see how you could possibly pull the pan w/o removing the engine from the vehicle b/c of the crossmember in the way....:dunno

Nah, I actually like my in-laws. I'm just looking to do something more interesting than another dull book report for a project.

    Tesla coil?

Has anyone here ever built a Tesla coil? I've been thinking about building one for my Physics II project this semester, but I'm curious if anyone else thinks this is a viable project that (1) can be built sometime this semester and (2) can be built without costing a wheelbarrow of dollars. I...

    I got my colonoscopy.

Same deal for the prostate exam--it's unpleasant, but since prostate CA is so eminently treatable in its early stages the indignities of the exam are nothing compared to having to deal with cancer.
