    map sensor/boost fooler?

Have you pulled the codes to make sure it's an overboost and not an ICP code? If yes, some actuator's are stronger than others. What does your boost gauge read when it trips the code? As long as your red tube is still on the actuator at the turbo it's alot harder to go over 25psi but some...

    Loping Idle

You may still have some air in the HPO system. How many miles since you've installed the crossover and introduced air into the system? Some trucks take 50 miles or so, driving it harder will also help purge the air out quicker since the harder you drive it the more oil volume is pumped by...

    Help

TikiWiki : SuperDutyDiesel Wiki That should get you started for now. As for the wastegate...the actuator on the turbo has a rod that can be adjusted on some. It's the canister looking thing on the firewall side of the turbo with a red tube going to it, the adjsutable end is on the...

    filter system? what type

The adhesives of the Dahl that bond the cellulose filter media to the top and bottom of the cartridge aren't compatible with high percentages of biodiesel. The adhesive on the filter element were gummy just like the epoxy on the heater. Filter bowl had cracks coming out of the holes for the...

    New to Powerstroke, need help

Welcome to SDD!:sweet If the truck doesn't have gauges get them! The BD chip is alright, Banks is overpriced and safe, Edge doesn't make a chip but the Evolution programer makes decent power. I made 304rwhp with the Evo. As far as chips I've run TS, DI, DPtuner and Twildman. The two...

Richards Revenge (aka biodiesel ate my HP fuel line)

The SD's have steel tubing feed lines from the filter to the heads, dead end system with no returns lines. The OBS's have mechanical pumps with steel feed lines and rubber return lines. On a SD only need to upgrade hoses if you've done modifications with rubber hose. Also with higher...

    Frick ME!

Some vapor coming from the oil fill is normal but alot would be what would be tell tale of bad ring seal. Nothing to do with the oil feed to the turbo. If you don't have alot of blowby then I would look at possibly pulling the compressor housing and looking to see if there's oil residue on the...

Richards Revenge (aka biodiesel ate my HP fuel line)

The '99 and later models DO NOT have these lines that are an issue. The mechanical pump OBS's are the ones with the issues.

Richards Revenge (aka biodiesel ate my HP fuel line)

OBS only. The SD's fuel STOCK fuel system is all steel tubing and dead ends with no return lines. Only time to worry about it on a 99 and later is if you have modified the system. That's only with higher concentrations of biodiesel. Joat...30R9? Is that a nitrile inner liner with...

    valve cover wiring harnesses

There's a harness under the VCs that is the wires going to injectors and GPs. The harness then plugs into a plug that's part of the VC gaskets. The pic above shows the early Powerstroke external VC plug. Later models only have one plug, early ones have two plugs in the VC gasket.

    Bypass Filter by Racor

I got a Racor LFS 801 bypass oil filter for "testing.":sly My question is where do I tie into the PSD system for this. The instructions show how to tie into Racor's full flow filters. I don't see why I can't use it in conjuction with my stock full flow. Any ideas?-popcorn Racor LFS...

    Engine Sleeve

You can sleeve the one hole but the press fit will egg shape the adjacent cylinders. When I installed sleeves I liked .004" press in cast iron. We just drove them in with a 4lb sledge while the block was in the boring bar. The eggshaped cylinders wouldn't hone out round with vetrified...

    Weak IPR coil?

There are no special tools needed to disassemble the IPR. Pipe wrench and a vise to hold the nut. Did you tear it down to the point of cleaning the small needle and orifice? If not then that's where you need to clean. You need to have 500psi of HPO to start. I can't remember what the...

    Frick ME!

Dennis if they are that oily so soon you may have other issues. :sorry Do you have excessive blowby coming out of the oil fill with the cap off when running? If not then you need to look at the turbo. The compressor side seal may be letting oil by and your blowing it downstream from...

    Rough Idle Help!!!

When was the last engine oil change? Is the oil level low? Is it the right oil? The HEUI engines can act funny with wrong, dirty or foamed oil. Next guess would be IPR valve or weak injector.

    Well, were do i begin.............................

The difference between A-1 studs and ARP studs is the material used. Tool steel to me is better than the 87whatever ARP uses in their ARP 2000 material. The only plus is the anodizing ARP does to help prevent corrosion, but no stock bolts that I know of come anodized. As for Hypermax's...

    Well, were do i begin.............................

Sorry for the troubles. I know that some 7.3s have lifted heads with the ARPs. Also they could never get a straight answer from ARP on what to torque them to. H-11 studs are the way to go IMO. Gaskets...some have luck with Cometics. Personally if my heads are coming off they are...

    ICP#s

Not sure on the 50% limit, I'm not a tuner. As for still throwing the 1211...you need to know what your programming is demanding for ICP. The 1211 can be above OR below desired....~400psi I think either way for more than a few seconds.

    Programmers/Chips

Get a chip! For big power you'll need custom programming and that's easiest on a chip. The SCT can be had with a couple of custom tuners programs but switch on the fly is a BIG + with big HP. As for who's tunes...pick your pony and ride it. Dennis at TS doesn't do custom 7.3 tunes...
